Haha, remember that time Robocop beat Apollo Creed?!?! What, that was Rocky 2?

Wait, another city wanting another fictional icon turned into a statue? Haha, stuff like this is funny. I just can't figure out why anyone would want this. Sure, Robocop had 3 movies, a shorlived television series, a cartoon and a short live comic book series, but it's not like they showcased an incredibly beautiful or brotherly city in any of that. He just blew away people dumb enough to pull a gun on a supercop (which was everyone).

I'm glad one of the poorest cities in the country didn't say they would buy a statue, they can't buy anything by reckoning. It's fiscally more responsible that they did that. City council people are routinely stupid enough to fall for this, they should have themselves a pizza party to celebrate their two working brain cells.

Lets hope that whatever they do, it turns out looking nicer than that
movie inspired statue.

"with a better and better impact" isn't this redundant ?

if it's better than better then it's below the category of Epic or Awesome or Great or what ?

lol

Seven movies (There might be a reboot happening meaning Eight), three cartoon series and five games if I remember correctly.

OT: I like the idea, there are far more retarded, expensive and meaningless things done by "artists" everyday.

I still fail to see the point why.

But, with this understanding, I guess Chicago should get a statue of either the Blues Brothers or the mounty from Due South. New York should get a statue of the Ghostbusters

Power to Detroit for getting an awesome statue like this. But now I'm suddenly really disappointed at my home town. Why the hell doesn't Winnipeg have anything worth showing off? The best thing we have is The Forks, and even that's shadowed by places like the Mall of America and the West Edmonton Mall.

Holy crap, SEVEN? I thought there was only at most two cartoon series, and I totally forgot about the games, haha. I stand corrected good sir/madam.

New York already has WAY too many fiction characters living in it.

There were 4 movies (besides the original trilogy) which pretty much compiled a made for TV mini series. Most will tell you how awful it is, I always really liked it a lot despite the flaws, definitely worth a look, I thought it was probably the best use of the franchise besides the original film of course.

Anyways, this is pretty cool. Maybe it shall motivate people to clean up the streets more :p

I can really feel the anger coming from the Citizens of Detroit! Grrrr-Oh wait, I can't, because they aren't angry. A couple of nerds were whining about their silly dreams not getting fulfilled, but they hardly warranted such a headline. Oh news, how you continue to mislead me.
Lighten up dude! We have fun here.

This just goes to show you, if you want to improve your city, get a cult-classic film involved. Or a cyborg.
If you want to improve anything, get a cyborg involved.

You know just as well as I do that nobody can have true fun unless there is a grouchy principal around to frown at you pesky kids and your shennanigans.
