Anime Review: RIN ~Daughters of Mnemosyne~

It's just like watching late-night softcore porn, only it's a lot more violent. And the sex is with angels.

Eh...I had looked at getting this, but I decided to skip, considering the plot seemed a bit more inane than even Desert Punk.

So then I can assume this anime series won't be on XBOX Live Marketplace then huh? What with the 'softcore' sex and all?

...It's ...I don't know...I LOVE IT THOUGH.

It's violent and a fucking mind screw, but a downer ending.

I wanted Mimi and Rei to get together!

Were we watching the same show? The fight scenes were as boring as they come and about as well animated as a good Naruto filler. This is assuming, of course, that there were any fights at all. I saw the show and I can only remember about two or three scenes in the whole show that just barely qualify as a fight. It gets points for separating it from the flock but for me it was a huge disappointment animation-wise. Aside from the one obligatory two second clip of decent action in the first episode, don't expect this show to get your blood racing anywhere but your pants.

Never heard of this, but it seems par-the-course with many modern anime, melding gratuitous sex/nudity with action, i.e: Dance in the Vampire Bund, Seikon no Qwaser (seriously, they gain their powers by suckling in Seikon no Qwaser. I will say nothing more about it), and others.

I've been watching this recently. It is definitely worth a watch in my opinion. I will admit some scenes feel like they are just in there to shock you, but I don't feel like it detracts too much.

Ever since I caught the trailer for this Scratch that. Ever since Facebook Ads recommended me this, I've wanted to check it out. I like watching anime that's a little "out there" and this one looks like it won't disappoint. I'm also hoping that the nudity doesn't get in the way of the story like Elfen Lied's did. Does anyone know where I can purchase this for a good price (or better yet watch it for free)?

This started out pretty good for me, but towards the ending i noticed my enjoyment dropping and even think: grab a chainsaw and mow that stupid tree down.

It's not bad, but not overly good either

my advice for someone who is new to this show is to WATCH EACH EPISODE DAY BY DAY!!!

*THERE ARE SPOILERS*

I probably should have watched one episode at a time instead of taking it all in at once, and I think by becoming overloaded with too much gore could be the soul reason for me hating this anime. I get that this show was celebrating some anniversary for the channel AT-X and that I should not take it too seriously, but for the love of god I cant help it...it was awful. I would like to say that I did enjoy the first couple of episodes. The reasons I enjoyed them were that the anime was something completely new and disturbing. I had never seen anything like it, and I wanted to see how the story would play out. It turns out that all the story/violence/sex-appeal were the exact opposite of its leading lady...it got old. I stopped caring about everything that was going on because I could tell by episode three that Rin was going to be facing some hardcore BDSM torture in her future. I am not a fan of sadist's, chains, and lashings of the old ultra-violence every frame, and it became too much of the same thing. Around the fourth episode I really didn't care about Rin at all because I felt like there was no point in fearing for someone who cant die, and wondering what was underneath a nudist's garments. I know Apos was on her track trying to kill her, but I knew that this guy was too fucked up to even remotely be able to win. I like when my bad guys have a sense of good and evil to them...it makes them more interesting, if you have someone completely evil it makes for a boring and predictable outcome of their base and cruel life style/demise;they will never develop or gain anything new. Like wise with some one who is completely good. I have never cared for the 'all-holy-white-knight-in-shining-armor' because usually he bores me and doesn't have any catharsis, and remains the same throughout his upright, behavioral existence. Some how this ride just became darker and stranger as it went on and I finally just wanted off. I guess my biggest problems were the constant violence, the characters, the animation(or lack there of), and the story. However I did enjoy the English dubs.
