Just pure awesome.

I've always found zealots disturbing, and religious fanatics most of all. This video was 10 minutes of an insane woman embarrassing herself in front of the world, and a representative from an "evil, scary hacker group", who came off as a rather mature guy, even more so because of her failed attempts at belittling him.

In short, just massive amounts of win, and I feel really sorry for all the christians out there who are having to watch this woman make a mockery of their religion.

Epic win. Anonymous gave the WBC a pretty wide birth, considering all of their criticism of Anonymous. Anonymous gave them a respectful out; the WBC refused it. As usual, the WBC gloated their perceived superiority, and in the end, as usual, fell short on the claim.

One should be careful on what one assumes. The WBC assumed wrongly that their site was untouchable, with only the bare protection of a skimpy Linksys router and IP Cop :/

I think 9,000 is the number of hack acts he has done, i dont think he counts the times he has lied, cursed, etc.

I don't know about that. If I made up a sign that said "I HATE FAGS" and started hanging around funerals, how long would it be before someone beat me up? The fact that WBC members appear to still have their noses unbroken tells me that the God angle is a major weapon in their crusade to troll the real world.
Actually, they HAVE been attacked/injured before. I remember seeing their van getting smashed by an angry mob - with them in it.

As to you making the sign, I bet no one would attack you. You might get shouted down,or forced off the premises, but I doubt anyone would beat you up (unless the funeral inexplicably took place in a downtown location...).
I used to perform funeral duties in Arlington National Cemetery, the WBC actually count on being attacked because a large portion of their revenue is generated from lawsuits. We were all told to ignore them and avoid them at all costs because they would even sue you for making an incendiary comment. I can't recall if it's the minister's daughter or niece, but whichever, she is a lawyer and her sole role is to file all of the lawsuits on behalf of the church.

I love them now! I used to hate them, but screw that. Go anon!

Plus, in response to some posts, yes we do wish to see what they do, it's awesome, and if you don't, don't read it.

Why is this church in America? It sounds like something that belongs in Afghanistan or someplace like that.
that is so racist i can't even find a good metaphor.
people in afghanistan don't believe in the sheepgod, nor jesus.
Actually, it's more Xenophobic than racist, but I suppose that doesn't matter.

He made a comment on the country, not the race.

Anyway, this westboro church representative is so baby-ish that Anonymous did the only thing they could. Show them why they should stop acting out by punishment. Not that they'll understand it or change their ways in any way.

There has to be a way to stop the westboro church. I wish jobs wouldn't hire them based on the fact that they belong to it. Let's see how they do when the majority of them are jobless.
and thanks to the capitalist world, you can do that.(discreetly of course...)

If employers refuse to hire WBC members only because they're members of some personal and fanatical religious sect, then they can rightfully sue for religious discrimination and have even more funding to picket funerals and launch more media stunts. Better t give them low-paying jobs and later fire them for harassing other employees with their beliefs until they have nowhere willing to hire them on an individual basis due to having a bad record.
Yeah, no, obviously, of course, but that's why it has to remain a wish.

EDIT: oh, I just read the rest of your post. That's actually a pretty good idea.

It has to be something like that (discreet and/or unprovable) so we can basically attrition them out of existence.

Kind of hypocritical, isn't it?
Not in the least.

Anon's position is that they could have shut WBC down at any time, but didn't because they support the right to free speech. WBC chose to call Anon out for the express purpose of garnering attention for themselves -the bitchslap was an attempt by Anon to teach WBC not to be attention-whoring leeches.

It'll fail, of course, but such is life, no?

Because America is the only place they could speak freely and not get shot.

His sins....... they are over 9000.

Good on ya Anon. I love what you are doing and what you have done. Keep the internet Anon.

Edit:
Also got to wonder how anyone could call anon hypocritical on this. They respected WBCs right to spew hate speech right up until WBC asked them to fuck over their sites. Its looking more and more like anon is becoming the most morally balanced org out their.

(bursts out laughing at desk)

Oh man how the hell did they think this was going to end in their favor? It appears the spy holding up the "God Hates Sentries" sign didn't teach them anything about messing with certain groups. For the love of god do not try and go head to head with a group of people who have pissed off waaay more important people than you have (FBI, US ARMY, ECT...)

But that's also where having so many people looking for jobs is a good thing. If WBC decides to get uppity because they deserve jobs more than anyone else who may be better qualified, any sane judge would laugh and throw the case out. The employers had options and picked one which could well have been at random. Screaming about discrimination because you don't get your way 100% of the time is childish, which means it's in the realm of possibility of reactions.

I'm not sure whether my faith in humanity should be reaffirmed by the thought that there are people out there dedicated to fighting the message spread by these Bible whoring fucktards, or extinguished completely by the thought that the Bible whoring fucktards exist in the first place.

(I should probably confirm at this point I'm not anti-religious. In fact half of my anger towards these jerks is that they are poisoning a religion that has the potential to do so much good in the world.)

You gotta give the moderator credit for keeping a straight face (he almost cracked for a moment there though). I used to despise anonymous for its, at the time, symbiotic relationship with 4Chan, but it seems recently that they've actually developed into a functioning autonomous entity that's capable than more than just trolling contests and bringing down websites. As silly as this seems now I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this movement will end up being an incredibly important aspect of media/sociological/etc. history. Great stuff.
