Just wondering if anyone remembers a flash video from about 5 years ago called Magical Trevor, http://www.weebls-stuff.com/toons/magical+trevor/ well yellow pages have employed jonti picking's skills http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Z4BlpFk0lU same tune different video. he had previously done a few adverts for anchor butter in the style of weebl and bob but just featuring cows.

what does everyone think of it? I think that it's the worst case of bandwaggoning ever it was a fad so long ago. also I don't know too many 12 year olds who require the use of a directory service. however the number is undeniably memorable 118247 is still on an eternal loop in my head.

God, I thought that stuff had died out ages ago. I really hope it doesn't reemerge again to haunt us all.

It was kind of a lame ad, to be honest. I prefer the ads that reference the A Team.

It's not really a meme though, is it? It's just a cartoon that a lot of people know, by someone who is surely approached quite a lot for contracts like this. It's only natural that they'd want to use it. Joel Veitch did pretty much the same in the various adverts he's made.

Still, yeah, I stopped in my tracks and nostalgia'd hard when I saw it yesterday.

Meh, I suppose its a smart move on the part of Yell to appeal to a large number of people that know the tune, but the advert is pretty poor, really.

Having said that, it managed to stick in my head, so I guess it works.

118 24 7...

That's Hastings Direct. Only just put 2 and 2 together with this number. Battle of Hastings was in 1066. Pretty smart.

What you seem to have forgotten is that MAGICAL TREVOR IS FUCKING EPIC!
And now, because of this, Yellow Pages is also epic.
Also, I think the fact that it came out about 5 years ago proves that it can't be bandwaggoning since there is no wagon on which to band.

I remember singing this song in my head for two days after I first listened to it. The sequels were rather sub-par, but I suppose that was to be expected. Good on the Yellow Pages to capitulate on the catchy tune I suppose.
