Remember a few years ago that Scott Pilgrim and Hot Fuzz director Edgar Wright was hired to direct an Ant-Man movie for Marvel Studios?

Well it's already 2013 and there's still not a lot of news about that movie except for that test footage shown at comic-con last year. But fortunately one enterprising artist created this video based from his memory:

But now that same footage was once again shown at The Best of BUG event in London and this time someone is ready with a cameraphone to record it. Which you can see below:

[vimeo=62220106]

(Hopefully won't be taken down by Disney like the other copies that pop-up in youtube)

In case the video is taken down yet again, go to this link [http://www.hypable.com/2013/03/20/ant-man-test-footage/] and hopefully the video there won't be taken down as well.

I gotta say that artist has a very good memory and made it as accurate as possible to the test footage.

So what do you think? Is this test footage convinced you enough that Ant-Man can be taken seriously and headline his own movie?

But let's think about this for a moment, Ant-Man, a d-list character known mostly because of slapping his wife and basically a guy that controls ants and can shrink and grow his size, a talking raccoon and a sentient tree is getting their own movies before The Flash and Wonder Woman, that's gotta hurt for DC fans provided those movies don't bomb don't you think?

Edit: Changed the video embed because the original video was already taken down.

Edgar Wright is a terrific director, so I'll be interested in seeing whatever he's made regardless.

And I think it'd be interesting to see a weird super hero movie amongst all the casual A-list blockbusters.

But no, still not convinced.
I am talking about proper full fledged live action movies not made for tv or animated movies.
So in your opinion, do you think we will be able to see a live action justice league movie?

Looks a little bit tongue in cheek and I really hope that's what they're going for. Otherwise it'd just be ridiculous.

If it is believed to make money, someone will try it. And after Avengers was such a success, they'll try it for sure.

That's what I'm afraid of, they will rush it and the end result will suck. Take a look at EA for example, their current releases although promising fails at execution. Case in point Sim City and Medal of Honor War-fighter.

It looks kind of silly, like a tokusatsu, but I'm happy with that, because that's how an Edgar Wright directed Ant-Man movie should look.

Video's taken down already, unfortunately. I always did like Ant-Man, though, and Wright hasn't let me down yet, so I'm hopeful.

I read the thread title as "Anti-Man" and thought this was going to be one of those reliably execrable gender discussions.

I was super-psyched when the first news of this movie came out. Hank Pym is one of my favorite characters ever, and it opens up the possibility of an Eric O'Grady Ant Man movie.

Then Edgar Wright goes and chooses "To Steal an Ant-Man" as the adaptation he's making.

We could have had the Ant-Man and Wasp on the Avengers fighting Ultron, but nope. We get an angsty father, who's daughter is the only interesting thing about him.

Err you may want to edit that Youtube embed as Disney has removed it. I was able to find an alternative link

I'm kind of impressive judging from the real footage althought I have mixed feeling on the suit. While it does look like it is inspire from the very first costume of him but I don't like the eyes part of the mask, it remind me of Iron Man in a way.

That mask makes him look kind of... evil. It reminds me of the DC villain Firefly's mask. Oh and I'd like to throw this out there:
Any chance a good Teen Titans film could come out of Hollywood instead of a Justice League movie? I've read a few articles and threads here and there about how DC doesn't really want to make a Justice League movie like Marvel did with their Avengers movie, so I'm wondering what y'all's thoughts would be on a Teen Titans movie instead. I figure the cast would be open to the characters that were in the Teen Titans tv show as well as Young Justice. On the other hand it could also dig out characters from the comics considering how many variations there were for the Teen Titans, Young Justice (the team), and maybe even the Outsiders. I do wonder how well such a movie could be made without turning it either ultra-gritty like the newest Batman trilogy nor turning it into a kiddy movie.

Lol, I saw the same thing and thought it was going to be about how Adria had taken a picture AND video of the guys she got fired.

On topic though, neat.

I think the only reason it looked evil was because we couldn't see his face. It makes him look like he has something to hide...wow, is this how J. Jonna Jamerson feels about Spiderman. I mean, we can't even see Ant-Man's lower face...JUST LIKE SPIDERMAN.

Also, Hank Pym. We need Hank Pym. Hank Pym at least needs to show up at some point. Seriously. Hank Pym. Fuck the other guy.

Not sure how he survived that massive fall at the start without rupturing every bone in his body/joint in his armor. REEL PHYSICS!

(I'd have mentioned how he inexplicably dropkicks the giant(to him at the time) sized guy too, but he does have some projection energy weapon thingy in the comics.)

Anyhow, not really much to go on in that clip. All it really does is show his suit, which seems kind of generically grey robotty.

Fairly certain Wright said he'd be going in the comics direction where Scott Lang is a thief who stole the Ant-Man suit from Pym, but in the movie Pym will be like, out of the superhero game and maybe teaching Lang how to use it. I love both of these characters so I am A-Okay with it.

The Gimmick of Pym Particles is that he can reduce his size but conserve his mass if he chooses to, meaning he can survive falls that a regular-sized man could and he is an excellent combatant. In other words, imagine a fly who has the strength of a full-grown man - makes it easy for him to beat people up.

I know that all doesn't make a huge amount of sense but it's all part of the suspension of disbelief required for the Pym Particles, so eh

How is he able to punch the guys when he's tiny? He should have nearly no momentum.

Never been much of an Ant-man fan but it looks like it has potential. But to be honest no matter how good this or GotG is I will still be pissed off that they were made before a Doctor Strange movie! Come on Marvel how long do I have to wait!!!!
