I like the kind of deadliest game sort of thing but most of it is too boring or stacked to be any fun. Seems most of the time I play these I get a team that refuses to stick together and runs off to get shot their own seperate ways, or I fall behind the group already in a skype call and get shot in the back.
Not only that but the amount of time you spend looking for somebody compared to how long it takes to kill somebody just isn't a good payoff.
Plus I've always found it irksome how the minute one person in your squad goes down or dies your life expectancy sharply drops by 25% out of an already 20% survival rate.
I'd like it a bit more if there were more people to shoot at and alot more people to watch my back.
I know there are plenty of shooters out there, but there only so many were you kill somebody and they actually stay dead permanently.
Even survival games like rust or day z don't have that, and to play those games you need friends.

I guess I could always try Arma, but that once again runs into the issue of needing friends to organize

I'm not sure if the game itself is so much the issue here. You play with randoms, you're going to get really garbage teams. I don't think adding more people will really fix that. If you're not really into finding mates and organizing teams, maybe you should just play solo.

Fortnite is the only one I can think of that does 5 teams of 20, 50v50 and even those are seasonal rather than regular modes. At least last I played bloody ages ago.

Not Battle Royale, but good 'ole Counter Strike comes to mind when I think of a multiplayer shooter with no respawns.

Or maybe Battle Royale games just aren't your thing. I feel like the issues you have are kinda in grained into what a BR game is. Yes, you are going to spend more time looking for a game and running around picking shit up than you are actually going to spend shooting people and having fun.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Well, Planetside Arena just came out, it has a squad mode with 20 teams of 12. Its kinda neat.

Counter Strike added a battle royal mode called 'Danger Zone' that is a lot of fun.

To answer your topic title: No, there aren't any. I think BF:V allows teams of 5, but it's not good, so there you go. 4 player squads is the current genre ceiling.

As for everything else- that's just the nature of Battle Royale, fam. Find discord groups that play the same BR you do and play matches with them, and you'll find yourself playing in a squad that is far more team oriented. Also if you're playing teams to 'have people watch my back'- then nobody will want to play with you for long. You only get out what you put in yourself, and dead-weight players don't make many friends.

Also, being down a squaddie or two can be more than offset by good marksmanship, and above all spotting enemies before they spot you. Especially in BR's with a short time-to-kill like PUBG and Ring of Elysium. Don't get bogged down thinking about the odds- just think about your remaining enemies, your health, position, and your weapon.
