Fair warning though if you are disturbed with graphic sex and violence also don't watch this series also if you suffer from epilepsy. Whelp I just got back from watching Love, Death & Robots and while I can't say a lot of the series as whole since its an anthology series it was pretty good. Seeing how its an animated anthology series it was pretty fun seeing mostly different art styles and seeing how this is a collection of short stories no episode is longer than 16 minutes so if you are watching a short you don't like it will be over soon, or skip it because it doesn't connect to anything. If I would have one gripe with the series is that a good chunk of the the episodes have the "Realistic Video game Cutscene" artstyle which is super boring.

Best Short- Good Hunting
It sort of starts off slow but it masterfully combines Asian folklore with Steampunk, I'm not going to say much but everything from the begging comes back in the end.
Worst Short- Beyond the Aquila Rift
Remember how I said a good chunk of the show art style can be describe as "Realistic Videogame Cutscene" yeah this is one of them also the episode was long and boring with a mediocre ending.

So that's my thoughts what were your favorite/least favorite.

I liked the whole series and hope we get some genuine series off the shorts.

My favorite was Lucky 13, got a real soft spot for folk forming attachments to inanimate objects - especially travel vehicles.

Watching it now. The only two I've seen so far are "Sonnie's Edge" and "Three Robots" and I enjoyed both of them. Looking forward to watching the others over the next week or so.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
So far my favorites are Sonnie's edge, Three Robots, Lucky 13 and Beyond the Aquila Rift. Really so far the only one I just really don't like is the Dump.

Good Hunting was quite good but... hard to watch, Suits looked really good but the story is kinda dull. Helping hand kinda just felt gratuitious. Shape shifters had a kinda interesting premise but... ehh. Sucker of Souls would have been better if the monster was anything other than what it was, plus really stock characters. When yogurt took over the world was cute. The witness looked cool but its twist only works once, same with fish night. Haven't watched the rest yet.

Edit: Ok, so Zima Blue, really really good, adding it to the favorites of the series.

My favourite- Zima Blue.
I liked that it wasn't a cliche "ai realise that humanity need to be wiped out". I just find it meaniful and deep that eventhought the artist is able to travel to the cosmos due to his alloy skin and beyond and yet he throw ALL of it away to revert back to his basic form.
It's like if Dr Manhatten came back saying creating life is overrated and turned back to his human form including losing his powers in the process!

Least favourite- Helping Hand.
I'm not a fan of bottle ship sort of episode (stayed in one scene) and I find the amputee scene way too grusome! Before you asked, no I haven't watched 172 hours!

I found good hunting to be....odd. The concept is great but it takes waaaaay to long to get to the emotional core, and takes way woo many curves to get there. The jump from newly industrialized China to magical steampunk was outputting to say the least and it would have been better if it just started out that way.

My favorite was probably "Suits", mainly cause it's got a pretty damn good setting and tugs at your heart strings a bit. Plus mecha.

Beyond the Aquila Rift was also pretty good and knocked me off my feet for a bit near the end. Spooky shit. The art style didn't really bother me much and I love cosmic horror so I found it pretty good. Plus the moral ambiguity leads to a nice thought exercise.
Personally the jump for me is what makes it my favorite short sort of "finding magic into technology" you know it feels like it comes in full circle.

I had it on while I was reading, so I only half-watched it. Will probably watch again though.

Loved the one with the cat. Not sure on the name, but I assume that is the Three Robots one.

Dumbest episode- The Witness. Clearly in a loop. There hasn't been anything shown that's stopping you from breaking it.

I liked the Russian episode. Very Warhammer 40k.

Didn't get on with Yoghurt leader.

Lucky 13 and Good Hunting were probably my favs

I liked Good Hunting the most, if only for the amazing animation. That's all I'm really in here for, I wanna see studios flex their animating prowess. The story and the themes kinda come second for me. That's also why I like The Witness quite a bit. Other standouts for me were Zima Blue and Shapeshifters.

Least faves would be the Hitler one, Three Robots, the yogurt one, and the one with the freezer. Animation wasn't very impressive and the humor fell flat for me.

I love this idea, you know how when awesome video game trailers drop everyone says the studio should make a movie? Well here it is. I hope it becomes a regular series on Netflix.

Got up to Shape Shifters, think thats about the halfway point. Favourite might be Good Hunting just because I like the "technology is the new magic" theme in anything, while least favourite I think is The Witness. The nudity actually felt gratuitous and what the hell is the loop about and why does it make people involved idiots?

Just saw one called Blindspot. Kind of a nothing episode. It's a Mad Max style convoy heist with no context that begins and ends 8 minutes later. Feels more like an artist's demo than anything else. I smiled at the "brain here" joke.

EDIT: Saw the Hitler one (Multiversity) which is really dumb and the yogurt one, which was kinda meh re: animation but I liked Maurice La Marche reprising his apocalyptic Orson Welles shtick.

Zima Blue was by far my favourite since it had a really animation style as well as a great story to booth. It managed to be the most mature out of the bunch without having to rely on tits and gore like the other shorts. My only criticism is that they relied to much on narration to spell out the ultimate message of the story.

The Witness felt like somebody's wierd porn video mixed with, I guess a Tarantino rip-off? I don't know, it felt like I've seen something similar to it before but I honestly can't place it.

They were fun and the differing styles were cool. I also like that each episode didn't overstay its welcome. Perfect length for dinner for someone like me who tends to eat quickly.

I look forward to hopefully watching more.

I'll give them that: they're good for watching during dinner, or while you're cooking it. Beats catching up to my Youtube feed.

I want a video game with the same premise as the "Suits" episode. Part farming sim, part Mech based horde defense. Work the farm to earn money, strategically balance spending that money on increasing the productivity of the farm and spending it on improving your defenses, using mechs and turrets to fight off waves of aliens that would destroy it all, all while being kept entertained by a bunch of wacky country characters. I'd play that game

Overall the series was a bit needlessly graphic for my tastes but there were a few episodes I did genuinely enjoy. If I'm feeling particularly bored this weekend I might do a one or two sentence review of each episode and post it here for a laugh.

Very good shi*t. Top three for me are good hunting, the secret war and helping hand. Photo-realism on the last two is just so delicious I was excited by just watching it. There were hilarious other episodes, like alternative histories, but I personally like drama over comedy, if both are done well.

I was surprised I could re-watch A LOT. Proves just how much they were high-quality.
