You're not sure who is more in the wrong? The husband who had correct suspicions or the wife who was on another guys **** ? Really??

I do hope she nails his ass for invasion of privacy.

Still, I do hope they both enjoy their divorce. **sigh** This is why people shouldn't get married unless they set ground rules they can both live with.
What is wrong with you? What he did is cheaper than hiring a PI and ultimately he was right in his doubts. I'm pretty sure when getting married one key rule is "don't fuck someone else"...

okay, so all he actually knows is she was in a different area of the city.
has ANYONE stopped to think that's where she went with her friend?

seriously, all he can say is that his wife went to a different district. she could have gone to a new restaurant or something with her friends.
or, she could just be checking her husband's trust. "look, he installed Find My Friends on my phone without telling me. probably thinks i'm cheating. lets go uptown and see if he accuses me."

i'm not saying theres no chance she cheated. all i'm saying is he has no evidence she cheated on him.
in fact, she could have found out and gone to the other guys house because she felt pissed off at her husband and this guy isnt a jealous ass. if going to someone's house and not saying that's where you were going means you fucked that person, i must be a massive slut.

if she did cheat, i would probably be more on his side if he'd followed her in a rented car with a pair of high-powered binoculars, because at least then he would see her, and in that case he's a stalker. so the only way this is different is that he has LESS proof.

If he's so low he'd stoop to that, he deserves someone like her.

Respect goes both ways, folks. Be someone worthy of getting it, and you will. She probably ran around on him because this wasn't the only way he was a jerk.

Why not just jam a GPS tracker.. up there?
or a... snuke! That will put an end to the cheating!

Now suppose the man had been an abusive spouse, possibly under a restraining order and that he had used the app to track his ex and kill her. Still cool?
If he was abusive she would be an idiot for not looking at any gift with suspect. If she had a restraining order he wouldnt have bought a new phone for her and she wouldnt have accepted it from him.

And if he wanted to track her and was abusive he could have just bought a family tracker GPS for less than 100 dollars and slipped it into one of her possessions.

Gotta think these things through before you post.

To all the "he was justified" folks...

What if he installed that without notifying her, checked her location, and she was actually in the East Village? Then she finds out he had been spying on her?

Ends don't justify means.

I mean, why don't we have the government install cameras in our homes? So long as we aren't doing anything illegal there should be nothing to worry about, right?

Either way, this marriage was doomed.
In this case the ends do justify the means. His wife was obviously untrustworthy, he had a strong suspicion, hell he even already knew the location! This was the last in the line of inquiry, a confirmation of what he already knew.

The marriage was doomed, but it was the cheating whore-wife's fault.
Also: Would anyone defend the woman if the man simply followed her car to confirm suspicion? That actually seems like the easier solution to all this.

So people are cheering Apple's ability to spy on you?

I guess that explains the insane reaction to the iPhone. We don't want our freedom if it can be replaced by something shiny.

This guy isn't in the wrong at all, all power to him, being cheated on isn't nice at all I'm glad he caught her at it so to speak. Cheats are one of the lowest form of scum

The fact that people are actually saying that HE is in the wrong baffles me.

Fucking hell people, if you were pretty damn sure that your loved one was loving someone else I can damn well guarantee you would find the fuck out.

Yes it was an invasion of privacy but one that was necessary and correct, sure if he found out she was telling the truth then fair enough but she was having an affair and the lesser evil was more than apt.

she aaid she would be with her friends, who do not live there, at the very least she's a complete liar.
That is not proof she's cheating though. Only that she lied. This woman could be lying for any number of reasons, cheating being only one.

If he was suspicious. It means he didn't trust her. Why didn't he just break up with her the second the trust issue came along? Can't be with someone you don't trust. Fuck being with this guy though. Now whoever he gets with is gonna think that he's tapped their phone.

depends where your drawing the line i suppose, but unless she was preparing some kind of epic birthday party a lie like thats kind of a dealbreaker.
True enough. :) It doesn't sound like a strong relationship, but if he's planning to get a divorce based on this I just thought he'd better bring some stronger evidence considering his claim.

Honestly had I been him I would of waited. Got a lawyers help maybe a Privet PI. Get a lot of evidance then release the story and take her for what ever I can. No judge will risk political sucide by helping her in anyway.

Simple fact is a pic on a phone is not enough but proof she goes to this guys house alot and a good lawyer can mean she pays my bill for the rest of her life.

The only thing I think he did wrong was admit it to early.

Unless he actually has pictures of her screwing the other guy, there's nothing his lawyers can really do. Just because a wife goes somewhere else than she said she would, doesn't making her a cheating whore.

From the sounds of it, he's just making a lot of assumptions and not really checking out if a guy actually does live there. And even so, they can both still deny. Without conclusive proof, he won't get a better deal out of a divorce.

Ultimately, they are both just in for a long and messy court process where they can both easily destroy each other. Instead, counselling would surely serve them better. There must be a reason they got married in the first place, and there must be a reason she is no longer truthful to him. It would definitely be easier on both to just talk this out before throwing themselves at the mercy of the divorce court.

I sure as hell hope not, because there's not much he can do against his wife and getting into trouble because he found out his wife is cheating on him would be kind of difficult to read (due to the sheer stupidity of it). Sure, the invasion of piracy is illegal and he did mistrust his wife, but the wife is much, much more guilty than he is in this one.

Do you want him to get into trouble because you find him more guilty than the woman or do you simply hate invasion of privacy to a great extent that you would not want anyone to get away with it, regardless of the issue? If it's the latter, that's completely understandable, but if it's the former, then I really don't know what to say to you.
