I want to buy some Arctic Monkeys albums but don't know which ones to buy. My friend says to get Humbug and Whatever People Say I am I'm Not any suggestions?.

I also want to know what are some good grunge bands other than Pearl Jam and Nirvana.

Edit: Also do you think their new album is good? I'm listening to it right now on their MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/tenclub

Favourite worst nightmare is my favorite album from Arctic monkeys and also the album that i'd suggest, but all of their albums are extremely good. I haven't heard humbug yet though.

humbug's easily the worst of their albums
id say the other 2 were as good as each other
well.. favourite worst nightmare is probably better, but only if you've heard whatever people say i am
personally id reccomend just listening to them in order

but humbug's definitely the worst

Damn, you beat me to my entire list (ok, so I think you have a couple more than me there). Barring that, Days of the New is considered post-Grunge, but I think they are pretty good, does that count?

ALICE IN CHAINS. You can't even claim to be into grunge if you haven't heard them. I love Nirvana but AIC kicks the shit out of them anyday. R.I.P Layne Staley and a very warm welcome to William Duvall. I'll admit it. I am very impressed with their new material. A rare thing for bands that have been on the brink of disaster for so long.

Alice In Chains. Their MTV Unplugged performance was just awesome.
Oh yeah that was classic, especially when Layne fucked up on Sludge Factory and they had to start again. It has me in stitches every time. Not all doom and gloom after all...

Can't beat Alice in Chains. Also have consider for pioneers of the genre such as Pixies, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentines (last ones a big stretch but I'm kinda drunk at the moment).
Thoses Artic Monkeys album are'very' good choice regardless.

Alice in Chain: Dirt (get it! it kinda mandatory at the moment.).
Mudhoney are alright, if you have ti get one song, it be 'touch me I'm sick'. Also early Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam. And sure why not throw Dinosaur JR. in the mix.
You're downloading these right!?
