Brent Weeks shared a link today that I found to be very cool

http://www.xrite.com/custom_page.aspx?pageid=77&lang=en

Its a color test like from the Lightbringer books he wrote. It unfortunately doesn't test for infrared or ultraviolet, but its still pretty fun.

I scored a 3! Zero is perfect score.

I scored 65!

Probably shouldn't have been playing in a pitch black room when my eyes are sleepy though.

I should go to bed.

I started doing the test, but it's really just painful. I already know I'm color deficient (note: that doesn't mean I'm color blind), so it tends to be a little annoying arranging those colors when I know I'm getting some (if not a lot) of them wrong.

I got a 34, which I gather is average. So, yay. Also, on the second screen, where it compares your score to other in your demographic, mine lists the lowest score as -160 and the highest at 444,445,389. On a scale of 0 to 99. So, umm, that's weird.

Hey, I've seen that before!

I got an 11 just now.

I've apparently got the most issues with certain hues between blue-green and violet-red.

Well holy hell, I got a perfect score....

I figured I was doing well during the test and might score average or better, but seeing "You have perfect color vision!" was quite a surprise :)

Perfect score.

That's at least in part due to the fancy-pants "for artists" monitor I use, super good fidelity.

Yeah, i've taken that test like six times, and the score I get is totally dependent on which of my monitors I take it on...some of which are quite bad.

Perfect score.

I'm surprised, seeing how many times I sat there switching two squares over and over, trying to figure which one was which.

I have a color blind friend, and while he didn't finish the test (too depressing), I think he was in the 70s (my guess).

I've actually taken this test before and got a 100, or whatever the highest score is. I actually posted about it here back in the day.

It's apparently pretty rare for a guy to do so well. Of course, I don't mean to brag.

Much.

I guess a 20 isnt bad for being up as long as I am now. Might do it again some other time just to see if that makes a difference.

EDIT: using the better screen and more focus I also score a 3

Perfect score here; I remember taking a test like this when interviewing for a graphic design position some time back.

I got a 4, although to be honest I could probably have done better... but I got bored and decided it was close enough (I could have gone over it one by one but that seemed waaay too tedious).

At any rate for an almost 27 year old male I do clearly have pretty good colour recognition.
