Before anyone thinks I am making this up, here is the link to the article. http://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/books/%e2%80%98twilight%e2%80%99-gets-gender-swapped-new-novel-%e2%80%98life-and-death%e2%80%99/ar-AAfa1bn?li=AAa0dzB

In a bid for artistic integrity, Stephanie Meyer is re-releasing Twilight. Calling it Life and Death, she had changed the gender of the 3 main characters. Bella is now a boy named Beau. Edward and Jacob are re-named Edythe and Julie respectively.

I really don't know who this book is suppose to appeal to. I really thought it was a sign of the end times. When every woman on the planet was reading and raving about how "Great!" Twilight was. It drastically narrowed down the amount of women I was attracted to.

I am just glad I don't work in a book store anymore.

I guess she's trying to stay relevant, since the fad died down. Men aren't going to read this, though, and most of her female readership has probably abandoned her for 50 Shades of Grey.

This is almost funny enough to check out, though. I'm legitimately curious what she thinks teenage boys think like. If it isn't "boobs, sex, porn, homework, sex, butt" then I'm going to be very disappointed.

"I met Edythe, and she was at least an 8. Gonna tap that, lol."

"Edythe was in my bedroom window last night, totally wants the D! ; )"

Teenage boys are idiots, fyi.

I'll admit I want to read excerpts just to see how bad she'll butcher the straight teenage boy mindset. Assuming character traits stay the same, an average guy will have two hot chicks fighting over him. Chances are he'll be throwing the baby oil and mud to keep it interesting rather than asking them to stop fighting.

According to the reviews I read, it's the exact same book with switched names and pronouns. Oh, and a new ending or so I'm told.

I just came back from a store that was selling the book. The new novel is packaged with the latest printing of Twilight. If I thought about it, I should have compared to the two stories. So, it's just an effort to sell the same book again.

Coincidently, after skimming a few passages of Twilight, I realized why I didn't have very many dates in high school. Teenage girls are really annoying.

I would read Life and Death if there was a lot of descriptions of Julia walking around topless. "When Julia turned into a werewolf, I felt really confused. I am not into beastiality, but if I was. I would definitely tapped that tail!"

Has anyone read any of it? I am terribly afraid it's a literal genderswap; a reprint of the book with a Ctrl+F to find and change names and gendered pronouns.

"Is it necrophilia if I screw Edythe with the heater on?"

"Julia tried to hug me yesterday, and I poked her with my boner."

It's still about vampire and wereworlf right as the alternative title make me think of angels and devils.

Either way, I'm not interesting if its still have sloppy logic and writting!

EDIT- I almost forgot about this if she really wanted to pander to the male into buying her books

Fuck, Meyer! You tearing me apart in 50 shades of laughter right now!

I'm sure, whatever happens, that the quality of the original work will shine through the mere application of a genderswap.

Due to the lack of a sarcasm font, I feel obligated to add that by saying 'quality' I'm not implying worth or value, only that it has traits which will certainly shine through the new veneer.
A varnished turd is still, after all, a turd.

Is that what that thing is? I thought she finally said "fuck it, why not try cashing in" with that whole Twilight from Edward's point of view thing that she was apparently going to release a few years ago. I'm personally not interested but I'm sure this is going to sell...at least reasonably well. It's still a big franchise and the young women who grew out of it likely still have old family member s who will see this as something new, buy it for them and present it as an X-Mas gift in a couple of months.

My God. I thought Meyer couldn't get any worse after her shoddy trilogy of awkward teenage monster porn fantasies. Well, I guess technically she's not getting worse, since she seems to have gone for a 'find-and-replace' tactic to re-sell her previous crap twice over, but the tactic itself scores points for awfulness in my book.

I thought "Twilight for boys" had already been made and uploaded to PornHub.

Oh Lord, that would make for some magnificent comedy writing :D

OT: *sigh* I just... can't anymore. I can't deal with the stupid any more. My well of fucks to give has dried up and been filled with concrete. And as much as I'd like to see someone make a fantastic parody of twilight with this, I think Meyer is most likely to go with the absolute worst stereotype of "different, artsy, sensitive guy", who's just as douchy, horny and stupid as the rest but also smug and pretentious to boot.

That depends, do werewolf women has more than one pair of breasts?
Well, from what I've seen from the movie trailers, the werewolfs actually turn into really big wolfs instead of humanoid wolfs.

So no extra breasts, but as wolfs they'll have extra nips.
Also, Julie will apparently be as bare chested as Jacob, so there's that for ya.

I think I would actually like to read a book like this.

OT: Hang on, isn't there a perspective reversal version of Fifty Shades of Grey? Gosh, even the fanfiction writer is putting more effort in from the looks of it.

There was going to be, but it got leaked and then cancelled. You may remember that the same thing happened to Twilight some time back.
