Army of Two: The 40th Day, it's a great game, buuuuutttttttt................
Is there really much of a story to this? Maybe I'm just confused, I never played the first game, but there really seems to be lacking a storyline.
Something about the two mercs, got hired, and then were paid extra to shoot some dude... and they have to rescue a lady, and then escape from a zoo?
Confusing.
So, tell me Escapists, what are your thoughts on the storyline of this game?
If there is, please help me on this one.

the backstory is pretty much that shooting dudes is awesome, and the sequel continue that story nicely.

haven't finished it yet but i doubt it will evolve much, i am looking forward to the zoo though.

There is no story. At all. Until you finish it

I seem to be the only one who'll admit the game looks like ass but it really does. But thats probably the last thing wrong with it...

They've actually removed the most guilt-ily enjoyable part of the first game - two constantly masked psychopaths cracking inappropriate jokes while killing terrorists. They worked much better as faceless, reckless killing machines than they work as characters. Most of the introductory exposition comes in the form of a written bio on the character selection screen - amateur.

As sequels go I cant believe how little they did with this - especially considering the gap between this game and the first. The only noticable improvement is that they've fixed the broken shooting mechanic (bullets used to only use your cursor as a rough estimate for their treajectory in the first game) and now its... adequate.

The first game was a guilty, silly, mindless, trashy pleasure for me. This, on the other hand, is just bad. IN the first game there was something strangely entertaining about back-to-back gunning followed by an air guitar session, all while wearing scary masks - now all we have is two planks trying to be taken seriously in an ugly turkey of a game.

And it's short. REEEEEEEEEEAAAAL short. Modern Warfare 2 has the polish to get away with that - this does not.
