Art styles you'd like to see in a videogame

Thinking to the game Okami, I just realize how much a unique art style adds another level of immersion to the game world. So my question is what art style (Either entire genres or work of specific artists) would you like to see incorporated into a videogame?

Microsoft Paint theme
Or a first person shooter entirely in Fischer-Price art style

I'd like to see someone try to make a game like a Picasso painting.

That'd be trippy as shit.

EDIT:

I'd also be fine with this, as Blazblue is phenomenal and beautiful.

I want to see more GOOD Cel Shading.

Sort of like that new Atlus game Catherine.

I want to see more games where if you look at a screenshot, it looks like GOOD anime.

I'd really be okay with anything that mixed things up. I think it'd be nice if games could explore cell shading better, like in borderlands. I think that visual style is great.

But yeah, anything really. Realism is totally overrated nowadays.

I want a game to take the art direction of a kindergarten. just give the kids a box of crayons and tell them to draw everything you need. Then make it a game.

I want to mow through hordes of poorly drawn ducks with my Macaroni and Cheese colored turbo charged laser mower and I will be damned if the protagonist isn't Purple Mountain Majesty.

I'd be in heaven.

A surreal or illusionist style would be fun to at least experience, I believe. Escher-like.

Something that just doesn't 'feel quite right', y'know?

Kind of like this picture:

Well, they are making the Kirby yarn game. First thing that came to mind.

Does it reflect poorly on my aesthetic tastes if I say I want to see a game done entirely in disco theme? I think it'd be really fun if implemented well.

Damn talented kindergarten. Also it lacks ducks :( ...and crayons.

But yeah I suppose that is as close as it'll get huh

I'd like to see more games attempt a sort of...patchwork feel. Some games have done something similar (I think Torchlight had something close) but I have et to see a game pull of the old, once loved toy-like feel that patchwork things bring.

Definitely not. That'd be sick.

Does Little Big Planet not count as that?

Come to think about it, Little Big Planet has a really awesome visual theme going for it. And it's the only game where I can care about customizing my characters.

Funny. The first thing that popped into my head upon reading the thread title was Okami.

Anyway, I'd go for another game like that.

Also I'm a big fan of good cell-shading. I know it has its place and doesn't work in any game, but there is quite a lot of potential in it. I remember the Ultimate Spiderman game on the PS2 using an evolved form of it, and together with cleverly inserted frames and panels the game really felt like you were playing through a comic book.

Water paint style, I suppose.
No outlines, colours fading is the only way you notice the edges... it'd be confusing at first but I bet people could manage.

A game where you play as the guy on the cover of the new Disturbed album, "Asylum". And you fight with your fans like the cover of "Ten Thousand Fists" against hordes of something, like that other game...
