Artists worst album.

For the Clash, for me it is Sandinista. The whole album just screams of quantity over quality... and then learning that it was all made in a space of about a month confirmed that!

As a fan of the Clash I must agree with that. It's not really that bad of an album, but it lacks so much of their pazazz. At least they brought it back with Combat Rock.

Agreed, massively! Combat Rock was one of the best, on par with The Clash, and just below London Calling!

I listen to a shit tonne of music yet rarely listen to a bands entire discography more than once, I see no reason to listen to a bands inferior albums more than once and stick to the classics really.

However one of the biggest examples I have noticed of a band going to shit is Muse, they started off really well and got better with Origin of Symmetry but after that they got progressively worse.

My rank for each in chronological Order:

Showbiz: 7.5/10
Origin of Symmetry: 8/10
Absolution: 7/10
Black Holes and Revelations: 5/10
The Resistance: 3/5
The 2nd Law: 1.5/10

They are probably the best example of a good band that got worse over time, either them or Metallica at least.

Also I just want to say on an unrelated note that a severely under-rated album is The Division Bell by Pink Floyd, this album gets alot of hate but in my opinion is consistently above average throughout with some stunning tracks (Marooned and High Hopes are two of my favourite Floyd tracks!), it is not a very memorable listen or exciting for the most part but the writing is still really good.

You're so on the money with this I'm having a hard time being mad at you

Far as I'm concerned it's really the only bad album they've done. That said, it's very much the worst.

Bad Religion - Into The Unknown

Bad Religion is by far my favorite band, and I truly enjoy almost every song of theirs, but this album is probably the one I like the least. I wouldn't say it's terrible or even bad, it was just them experimenting. Too bad they hate it so much themselves that they generally deny its existence.

YEARS I waited for this...the feeling of bitterness and disappointment was mighty indeed.

A few others include Dimmu Borgir's last two albums...they were terrible, both of them. Shagrath has little to no power left in his voice after all these years, and now that they fired ICS Vortex...there's nothing left in that band. At least I'll always have Stormblast and Enthrone Darkness Triumphant to remember them by.

Also, any Deicide album after the Hoffman brothers left the band. Fuck Glen Benton, the Hoffman's made Deicide awesome. They were br00tal, talented guitarists. Glen's just a d00sh with a stupid inverted cross on his face 'cuz that's "hard and brewtulz".

Ok,I sort of lied. Your Showbiz and OOS scores are pretty close to what I'd peg them at. If I were to change them, it would be by +.25 probably (each, of course).

Absolution is a 9 for me. Easily my favorite and contains my favorite songs.
Your BHaR score is astonishingly low, imho. I'd peg that at an 8. FWIW, that album sounds great live.

I understand The Resistance was very divisive, but I didn't find it nearly as bad as a lot of people made it out to be. Probably a 7.5 for me.

Can't really say I'm surprised on your score for 2nd Law. Again, very polarizing. But I happen to like it a lot. Solid 8 from me on that album.

Of course, I totally respect your opinions and all that, I was just sort of surprised to see BHaR and Absolution so low, as they're probably the most well-liked among fans.

Absolution I gave a good score and I do really like that album, I just do not think it is as good as their first two. (Also I really dislike Hysteria, I am a bassist as well so take from that what you will)

BHaR on the otherhand has some really great tracks (mainly Map of The Problematique, Assassin and Knights of Cydonia) but also has the worst tracks of any of their albums up to that point, Hoodoo, Soldiers Poem, Exo-Politics and Invincible are filler tracks and Starlight is meh but designed for the purpose of airplay. The other tracks are alright but they lack substance in my opinion. Supermassive Black Hole never really caught my attention but is an alright song and apart from the strings section in City of Delusion the song is nothing special.

I respect your opinion though.

I disagree though, there is alot of filler on The White Album and Revolution 9 is not the worst track although it is pretty bad, that award would have to go to Wild Honey Pie...

Oh shit, I forgot. Korn: The Path Of Totality. Whether or not Korn is really a "good" band is up for debate, but they did a freakin' dub step album. With Skrillex. Goddamn. From what I've heard of the album "stand out" tracks, nothing blends properly. Jonathan Davis' usual growl doesn't work with the wubs from Skrillex. And I actually enjoy Skrillex, to a point. It's just... distressing. And all these people I know absolutely love the album, and play it constantly at parties.

Helloween 7 Sinners, it has 2 songs that are ok, but overall its just one of the worst albums that has been released with Andi Deris as the lead singer. Though that said when I saw them on their tour for said album, they were pretty bitching, they had the sense not to do that many songs off of that album.

Fear Factory - Mechanize (most likely the only one who hates it). It lacks any of the classic sound they have and made it sound like Devine Heresy (not a terrible band but stil). Their latest release made up for it luckily.

I'll bring up Dream Theater. I think it's widely agreed that their worst is Falling Into Infinity. Some songs are OK, but the whole thing never gets anywhere near their other works.

I like Smashing Pumpkins and most of their albums are good. Although most people would finger Adore (which is one of my favorite albums) I direct your attention to Machina/The Machines of God which is horrible. The lyrics are bad, the production is bad, and the guitar work sounds like shrill buzzsaws.

I really didn't like the album "One by One" by Foo Fighters.
I know that a lot of people like "All my life" and "Low" but they just didn't jell with me.
"Wasting light" is a close runner up but it at least has "Walk" with is one of my favorite tracks.
