I dont get it. Yea who cares. I have seen many more ahh... below-adept gaming skill men than women. Theyre all people, they should be treated as their skill goes and not as they are. Don't fall for the seduction and subleties of prejudice, as this is the way of the fool. However, be ready to accept that you must teach the unskilled, not reprimand them. It is this foul cycle that has held humanity back for millenia. Dont insenuate it, that is all being asked.

Girls can be as good as guys at some games, even better. Most girls just don't see the fun in computer games, dunno why, it is a mystery.
Anyway, I would always meet this woman at the local internet cafe, playing Diablo 2 all friggin' day. As a user before me said, stone-cold fox with a melodious voice. Had 3 level 99 hammerdins and was on the top of the europe ladder.
My girlfriend plays Left4Dead with me and loves it, although gets startled easier than I do.
There is a girl on youtube that plays L4D on expert all the time. Lots of girls kicked my ass at dota when I played it, not to mention Counter Strike in my early days and even UT3 recently (my cousin actually).
EDIT: About the porn part: I don't know why you guys think that porn puts girls off... It's kinda illogical. It does attract us, and throw off some others, but girls HAVE breasts, unless you lived in a cave and evolved an extra pair of buttocks, so they can't really be ashamed or whatever with the game that includes their natural parts.
Most girls just prefer staying underground, or it's just us that need to get out more to see them.

Being a male gamer tends to limit prospective contact with females for the simple reason that going out at the weekend to get plastered or dancing is a lot more boring than wading through zombies with a semi automatic shotgun. A gamer is a gamer - we don't need to add 'girl' to the front just to differentiate. Okay, so we say a girl is playing online just for the sake of attention; well, any serious gamer stops paying them attention once their repertoire gets rather boring because they're there to satiate their egos.
You don't need to be good looking to play games, unless the game was about putting your face on for everyone to see for some reason or another, a game which I've yet to see and more than likely antithetical to actual gaming anyway.
I don't care if a girl is playing a game with me (let alone how good she looks, how fit she is, if she can read a map or not, can use a chainsaw or how she likes her steaks cooked), if she plays any good, great, even if she doesn't, if she's there for the sake of the game, then I'm more than happy to stick around and have us a good time, because that is what it's all about.
Stop paying attention to the 'girl' part of 'gamer' and just enjoy, perhaps somewhere down the line you may eventually find out your fellow gamer in your party or squad or opposition is a girl, then on a whole other point ASIDES from gaming- you may socialise with her and get to know her and whatever, meet up for coffee and what not- and that is just a whole other kettle of fish in the real world away from gaming, which is entirely up to you.
No guarantee how good looking they are - but obviously that's a risk you'll be taking if all you cared about was the appearance of your fellow gamers in a game anyway.

I think Larenxis can attest that not all gamer girls are ugly, and honestly, there are tons of girls in my school who game and are on the internet a lot, and none of them are particularly ugly.
Hey wait a minute... what happened to that Girl gamer thing you where doing Wil? I remember the first part but I must have missed the second and third. Or you just didn't bother doing them. I wouldn't blame you, going to the effort only to get the same discussion in the end. All girl gamer threads end the same way on this site. Theres mostly stories about this one chick who was made fun of over Halo, one person being a dick that stirs up controversy, a couple of possible girl gamers turn up but no one knows their true identities, maybe a famous female poster will turn up and scoff at everyone and I sit back wondering why I still read this stuff. For the Laugh out Louds I suppose.

I love how the board members here wallow in their own supposed intelligence but most have missed the possibility that the question in this case is more along the lines of "Why can I not find someone of the opposite sex who is attractive and has an interest in the things that I do?" Is this that horrible a question? You would think you and a potential companion would have simillar interests wouldn't you? I would argue that it is ironic that the answers the males give are what they are considering the kind of reactions girls get from these same fools.
I suspect more and more that these people are sexually confused from the jerks on XBL who hiss at girls if they find out that they are in their Halo 3 match all the way up the chain to the game designers themselves. Don't believe me just look at the shooters nowadays, notice something with alot of them? The total lack of any readily discernable females! Take R2 for example, every single character model in this game is male. WTF? Women were directly involved in the Mahattan project (Specifically women were used to operate some machinery that was important to the construction of the atomic bomb. Though these women were not aware of the function of the machines they manned.) so you would think that with exfuckingtinction looming, you would see more women in R2 (Especially since women tend to outnumber men.) couldn't be more wrong there. Even with the end of the human race a very real possibility the only ones doing any shooting are men........
Oh don't worry I have not finished yet, look at Gears/UT3 they actually have women in the game except those women look like men. The men are grossly over muscled to the point of being goofy. I always used to wonder why the games looked the way it did until I got a good look at Clifford and it all became clear in that moment.
Anyone here remember all the hate Jade Raymond got for not being totally busted? I could swear to you that half the internet thought she was some kind of trap. People would actually ask why she was being interviewed even though her position as producer meant that she would be the person to go to for interviews.........
No one would question why Hideo Kojima would be interviewed for stuff pertaining to Metal Gear Solid 4, a game he not only designed but produced and directed. But when it came to Ms. Raymond, it was now some secret plot by Ubisoft to use her sex against unsuspecting gamers.
