Nooooooo!!! I fucking hate WW2 settings! It's the reason I can't stand Call Of Duty games!

How about Medieval England? Maybe we could get to kill Henry VIII and all his whores? That would be sweet :)

Maybe the USA during the 1800's? Assassinating presidents would be nice.

The Mayan age?

Rome?

Feudal China?

Please. No. Fucking. World. Fucking. War. Two.

Because it's nice to keep timelines in place.

It's like making a game where you kill Hitler.

Why not the English Civil War? That could honestly rock quite hard.
It's not really universally celebrated.

And the set pieces would be...
Somewhat like arse.
What war is universally celebrated? What an incredibly stupid thing to say...
What an unjustifiably aggressive thing to say...

Sorry, just makes me think of what Yahtzee said in his E3 vid a while back, something along the lines of:

"There was rumour that AC2 would be set in the distant future but I guess Ubisoft decided that too much innovation might frighten us and that's been kicked in the head."

The tragic thing about WW2 is that only PARTS of it have been done to death - namely, post D-Day Western Front and Stalingrad. To a lesser extent, Battle of Britain and Northern Africa. There are still a lot of interesting settings for videogames, offering different gameplay opportunities - even a few for an AC-style game. But no chance they will ever be touched upon, because (a) the Holocaust, Stalingrad and D-Day are the only three things most Western folk know of when talking about WW2 and (b) mentioning WW2 gives a knee-jerk cry of "it's been done to death!"

OK, I'll get off that soapbox now.

I say Seven Years' War. All the major political powers of the time were involved. It had important, if now largely-forgotten consequences. It also has the disadvantage of there being firearms, but these have been in common military use since at least XVI century.

It's not aggressive. If I had said he was stupid, it would have been aggressive. It is merely a statement, and one that I think is justified in fact.
I've noticed that all your arguments so far have been purely semantic.
Being pedantic doesn't justify your opinion.

So I'm not supposed to read the words you write, I'm supposed to somehow magically get some other information? If you don't write stupid things, I won't call them stupid. And if you get offended because you don't understand the words I write down, I'll help you to understand them. It's not really a matter of justifying my opinion by being a pedant, it's a matter of communicating clearly by reading what the other person has written rather than making up whatever is convenient for your 'pithy' and 'clever' comebacks.
I honestly can't be the only one that detects your aggression.

Calm down and think about what your saying, nighty night kids.

I'd rather have a male protagonist, but then again, I am a male, so I may be a weee bit biased.

How's that old saying go? If I have to stare at an ass for 20 hours, it may as well be female?

Anyway, I hope they cap the main Creed story off at a trilogy. After that they can go do some fleshing out of the history of the assassins, and I'd be ok with that. But don't drag Desmond out ffs.

Assassins' Creed XXXV

Please, no, just no.

Where would it be set? In Gabe Newell's back garden?
Actually, there were always meant to be only 3 games. Let's hope it stays as 3 and doesn't turn into another Final Fantasy franchise. (I like FF, but enough is enough)

OT: But WWII...female assassin? No,no,no,no, definitely NO. WWII has been done in WAY too many games already. And I'm not against having a female assassin, but have you looked at Ezio and Altair's faces? Exact mirrors of Desmond's face. How is that going to work with a female assassin?

I for one, call shenanigans. If this isn't some belated April fool's joke then well...

I believe that SilkOseph called the character being female. You sir, get a cookie.

Oh, and please stop calling it AssCreed, please. It not only sounds like a porno when you do that, but when you do it reference to a game that might have a female Assassin soon, it makes me think she'll look more anime-female than human-female.

Not that there is anything wrong with anime females, I just find hard to see a female assassin pulling off parkour moves like Altair and Ezio do with 12 pounds of boobs.

I'm sorry but I still don't believe any of this. It looks as though the produce was mis-quoted and the person who interviewed him put words in his mouth. I very much doubt that it'll be set in WWII as Ubisoft hates shooters of any kind. But it would be cool to have a female assassin.
