The Irish war against the English would be a pretty cool time period. I can almost picture it: Assassin's Creed 35: 1916!

I'd rather have a male protagonist, but then again, I am a male, so I may be a weee bit biased.
How's that old saying go? If I have to stare at an ass for 20 hours, it may as well be female?

Anyway, I hope they cap the main Creed story off at a trilogy. After that they can go do some fleshing out of the history of the assassins, and I'd be ok with that. But don't drag Desmond out ffs.

.... Then again, I guess a female wouldn't be so bad.....

It would put the "Ass" in Assassin.

Isn't there a game with a female assassin set in WW2, what was it called? Velvet Creed?

Is it just me or does the idea of running around with knives attempting to shank guys with sub machine guns seem stupid...

The 2nd game is barely out and they are speaking of a sequel already?

Jeebus Christ, these guys are fast.
When they first announced the first game, they announced it as a trilogy.

This is why people who were paying attention have not been surprised that both games so far have ended with more questions asked than answered.

You forgot Russian Revolution, and the fall or the Tsars, that could be a fun place and just before WW2.

Isn't that just a little too early to set up Assassin's Creed 3? I mean, barely enough time from the 2nd one for them to really see if it is pursue-able?

Enemies with Guns would completely ruin the series, unless set in a time period where guns were primitive and rare, and thus only specific enemies/targets, who consequently had to be stealthily killed, had them. That might bring some tension to the stealth. If the average grunt had a pistol or an MP40, it would be a whole other game.

I suppose they could follow the Inglorious Bastards route and make a sweet ass Jewish revenge game where the assassin kills his/her way up the Nazi high command. Historical accuracy/propensity of Jews to be uncoordinated be damned- that'd be a awesome game.

I think they shouldn't be counting out the Renaissance yet. We have just seen Italy, and we saw it at the turn of century going into the 16th. You have Martin Luther, and John Calvin showing up, you have Henry the VII breaking away from Rome, the Holy Roman Empire beginning to slowly unravel at the seems, and spread through out this century is the French Wars of Religion, the introduction of Catharine de Medici to the French Court and all that it entailed. Plus, they already have a subtle tie in, in that King Henri III (Valois) of France was stabbed by a monk. Jumping the channel to England, you have Henry, then Mary, the Elizabeth, all fun times for England. Also, since some of the glowies on the wall in Abstrego feature South American sites, and those are just being explored in the Renaissance.

Of course I thought they were quick to leave being the Medieval in AC1 as well, although it made more since. If they must jump to another time period though, I personally believe the years leading up to the American Revolution, with the story culminating in the events of the French Revolution would be very worth while. Especially considering how intertwined those two events are.

AC 2 makes it pretty clear that AC 3 will be Desmond being an assassin in the modern age. I don't know where all this "woman in WW2" is coming from. It may be a possible subplot involving uncovering a necessary location, say, but I really hope that this remains a subplot instead of the dominant one. Desmonds the main character reduced to a bit part in his own series! That's just wrong!
