Why not the English Civil War? That could honestly rock quite hard.
Because there "Was" no English Revoloution?
You sir, are a fool.

Also, Victorian England seems good, maybe French Revolution. German Unification amybe or Russian Revolution. Whaddya think?

EDIT: Also ninjas. Always consider ninjas.

SECOND EDIT: Does the sciencey part not leave room for them to go back before the crusades? Because killing Caesar would be fucking insane.

What I don't get is why it has to be set after the Renaissance, the Animus can show any of Desmond's ancestors... Just saying

What about going East, if they're looking for the pieces of Eden tell me how cool would it be to see, an Altair style assassin go up against Ninjas, Samurai, or Chinese Warriors. Since they've shown the roots in Arabia, it's more than possible that there could be some African Assassins, in the time before colonization wiped out much of the African Empires.
You fool, in the Far East the Assassins would BE Ninjas. I mean, Enzio already got the smoke bombs in Brotherhood.

Female Assassin: Yes
World War II: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

That would take away half the charm of Assassin's Creed. There are millions of settings to explore all over the world all over the time. It doesn't matter from which angle you do WWII, it's still done to death.

The French revolution would be awesome if you ask me ^^
OR around the time of Jack the Ripper in Victorian England. And have Jack the ripper be a part of the Templars. Would be fun to hide a dagger or two in my dress

Now, I know of a point of time in History in a certain Revolutionary War in which a female was responsible for assassinating someone who was believed to be propagandizing the people from a Jesus-like podium. That being said, HEY UBISOFT! MAKE A FEMALE ASSASSIN IN THE FRENCH REVOLUTION! KTHXBAI.

*phew*.... here i was thinking they were finally going to innovate and think up all sorts of awesome modern-futuristic additions to the assassin's creed formula; having you finally play as desmond and actually start getting shit done in the plot.

...well, thank you from laying my fears to rest ubisoft, as you apparently think you can get away with making 35 of these games, i have absolutely no fear of you trying to mix up the usual formula anytime soon.

This reminds me of the last part of hellsing ultimate abridged episode 1.

Integra: "Whoever is behind these vampire attacks, it has to be some kind of large organized group."
Alucard: "Like the nazis?"
Integra: "That would be retarded"

Meanwhile

Unknown: "Gentlemen! Ve... are nazis!"

Assassins' Creed XXXV

Please, no, just no.

Where would it be set? In Gabe Newell's back garden?
actually Ubisoft said (after the release of AC1) that this series will be a trilogy.

I would so totally go for a Victorian Era...Maybe Industrial Revolution first, then work into the World Wars later. There's a richness of history in those eras named above, a richness reminiscent of the Renaissance in ACII. Not to mention, the attention paid those eras in ACII in the Subject 16 puzzles, there's clearly a large tapestry of established conspiracy to, er, weave into the plot.

You know, the world is a really big place. Ergo, WWII was a really big war. Ergo, there are plenty of different angles and settings, in conjunction with WWII, that have yet to be explored by any medium. Ergo, a WWII AssCreed would not be inherently bad. In fact, the world-changing nature of the war really makes it a perfect fit.

Not that that's the only setting that would work. Hell, what if they made a game where Desmond jumps around through several different time periods and assassins? I think it could work, especially if the different assassins' stories were connected somehow. Like, the things you did as one assassin might effect the life of some future assassin, who you also play. That would be cool.

Because anew guy didn't check the last post date and just started typing. If they avoided all the battles that were overdone and focused on the small, but important stuff behind enemy lines that'd be badass. Just have the character running around europe ruining every bad guys day :D

ww2 doesnt sound like a good idea. maybe ww1. 1900 or earlier sounds good. i just dont think assassins would fit that well in the age of tanks, machine guns and electricity

An Assassin's Creed game taking place during the French Revolution would make me buy it. Instantly. I've never played one of these games, but... that would be an awesome setting for that. Actually, any game type is an awesome setting for that.

I really hope they don't take this series into WW2. I was starting to consider playing it... :/

I've never played Velvet Assassin and I agree that WWII has been done to death by the gaming industry I wouldn't be opposed to an Assassin's Creed game starring a female assassin that was set in the workshops and factories and local city life of France or America, where the women made all the weapons and supplies. Even if it went later to a German city I don't think I'd mind so long as they avoided getting the main character involved in the big battles where most FPS WWII games take place.

From reading the comments by the game-makers this seems like what they were considering and I think that'd actually be a pretty cool idea.
