Eh, I gave up on this series when they declared that not only are they going with yearly releases, but that they also have absolutely no idea where the story is going and are basically just going to keep dragging it out until it starts to wane in popularity.

Ok, so all i need to hear is that the PC version isnt more buggy than a bucket of beetles then i might decide its worth my money... after release.

Well bugs like that i can tolerate, maybe even enjoy once in a while.

Even Black Flag had its share of problems (on PC) and i enjoyed it, i just dont want to spend money on another Unity.

Judging from on of the in-game pictures there, I feel compelled to mention: We British may be eccentric at times, but we don't *all* have Corgis hidden inside handbags or suitcases...

Cool, I may give it a spin - if only to find out how well I can navigate London of 150 years ago.

It appears this entry may be the most relatable game to me as of yet, not solely due to the location but with the similar age brother/sister sibling rivalry/connection through a troublesome, cockney upbringing. That sort of relatability has never occurred to me before. Different period but eh. Kinda sorta have to play it now. :/ At least it appears quite worthy. We may never get another GTA london to act out any supressed, dark fantasies on bobbies and beefeaters, but this will do for now.

Buyer Beware, this game may be launching in an especially buggy state, similar to Unity. A couple of sources have noted that the PS4 version has terrible framerate are issues, floating NPCs, and freezing. If true, than I doubt other platforms' versions will be any better - probably even worse on PC.

So yeah, might not want to make that a day-one purchase.

Hmm. The source for this article is one guy writing on Reddit, who only provides a written review and no caps of the issues, though he does show pictures of the game case to prove he has it. As well, a ton of the things he's saying don't gel with what I've seen in preview videos (for example, the hour-long sponsored video from Achievement Hunter yesterday): He claims it looks 'old' and the lip-sync is terrible, but neither of that was evident in what I saw, and trying to find catalogues of glitches in other reviews don't mention most of what he calls out, but is in line with Lizzy in saying that there are issues, but far fewer than Unity and none that are so obviously awful.

I have no idea what happened with his copy of the game, but most of the people who have played the game aren't saying it's exceptionally buggy. I still don't plan on getting it for a while yet, because I know there's going to be some early patches, but nothing on the scale of Unity.

I was on the fence about this one since Unity kinda put me off from the series, and that's not because of the bugs.

I'm glad that this one turned out pretty good. I will probably be picking it up later after a few things get smoothed out. I'm really interested to know how they did the duel protagonist since it appears they did a good job with it.

Having somehow not seen any screenshot or footage of the game before, am I the only confused by their choice of colour and lighting? The character models and general aesthetics reminds me of Dishonoured whereas for some reason I was expecting it to look like Bloodborne.

I am guessing a Lovecraftian monstrosity dlc is out of the question?

Hello, friend. You seem to have mistaken this forum for /r9k/ or something similar. Maybe you should head on over there before you get banned for continuing to mock the content creators in such a flagrant fashion.

Thank god fpiw is here to save us poor frail men-folk. Stick it to the WOman!

OT: I got this game for free after buying a graphics card, and I'm interesting to see what the game plays like after these years. I only played the first half of the first game, fell asleep, then played the intro to the second game where it told me to press the right face button on my god damn keyboard. After which I immediately uninstalled the game. I wonder if I can get it to hold a stable 30FPS on my 980 ti...

I gave up on the AC series after AC3. The overarching story lost its spark, the combat had gotten repetitive, the games didn't meaningfully evolve any more, critical missions became less immersive and more like chores, and the series as a whole began to feel phoned in.

Personal dabbling with AC4 and reading reviews of Unity did nothing to dissuade me of that feeling.

Has Syndicate made any meaningful strides away from the problems I experienced? This review seems to indicate more of the same, albeit smoother, but my problem was rarely with the smoothness of controls.

Now, here's a question I never thought I would be asking: Outside of the first few missions and the missions "specifically" for one of the twins, could you technically beat the game with only "one" of the twins?

Other than that, it sounds like it's worth the playthrough in the future...

gave up on the series since unity. black flag is really good, i dont deny it, i had fun with it, sure had its glitches as well on pc that i once flew through the deck and had to wait for the battle to be over because i coulndt get out.
but unity was just bad that im glad i got a refund without any questions. and that was from EA. since then i havent played any more AC titles anymore and most likely never will. the game could be good, maybe even a good port on pc but enough is enough. this yearly releases are just out of hand. i have other games to enjoy and next year there are some titles im more looking forward to than this.

Picked it up on PS4 today for PS4 and I'm really enjoying it so far. Only one bug where an enemy floated a foot off the ground for a few seconds but nothing else and definitely nothing resembling Unity. The two playable characters are interesting and I like the different play styles each has. All in all its so far so good.
