The word "planet" comes from the ancient Greek "astēr planētēs," which translates into "wandering star."
And cue the Portishead song... nowish.

Personally, I think it's Mogo, the Sentient Planet, making his rounds around the sector. You know those Green Lanterns, always vigilant.

This is a really cool discovery (unless it comes crashing into Earth and kills us all). The fact that it was discovered at my university is icing on the cake.

We interrupt this broadcast to bring you a message. We represent a concerned group of citizens who love Mother Earth. [...] There remains but one way to save the Earth. Find Professor Oguro and his daughter Remina. Destroy them.

Damn you Junji Ito. I would rather have Galactus or Unicron eating the Earth.

Maybe it's backpacking through the universe, trying to find its true planet self.

Wait, that's a free-loading planet.
"Hey mind if I crash in your system? Don't worry brah it will only be for a few hundred million years and I'll stay on the edge"

And then he moves into the goldilock zone and still hasn't left after several billion years.
Unbound exoplanets as Australian backpackers - I love it :D

It saddens me that enough of you don't read Manga.

It's obviously Hellstar Ramina [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellstar_Remina]

We sure it's not that evil thing from Fifth Element? We need Bruce Willis.
And Milla Jovovich.

Actually you can keep Bruce Willis. I'll be fine with Milla.
