Quick question guys,

with all of the spam on how Rome2 is horrible on google, I can't seem to find any threads about this specific issue.
Is there any way to 'attack move' with units?
There are cases in which battles get messy, and clicking on individual units seems almost impossible.

How can I order my troops to 'kill anything in their way'?
Basically, my units end up standing there while enemies massacre them, or try to run through an enemy troop while getting slaughtered as they walk.

Thanks for the help!
I'm a pretty big noob at this sort of game :D

Units automatically engage if they encounter enemies on their way from point A to point B.

You actually have to continue giving them move commands post engagement in order to have them stop fighting and move again. And even then the results are dubious at best, with units often choosing to forsake movement for further fighting. Untangling your horses for another charge, say, can often require multiple move commands in my experience.

Yeah, I tried that, but when I go for such a thing, my troops get stuck behind eachother.

I.E.:
I send my army towards theirs, (let's say 10 melee units each army) when my troops get there, some will enter combat, and some will end up waiting right behind those that are fighting. They basically sit there, occasionally just watching and sometimes (if the enemy has range) getting shredded apart.

Now I understand that micromanagement is necessary, I have played games such as SC2 etc. However, I feel like the 'Amove' is rather... lacking. I know that its all about leading your troops here and there and making it your own personal decision, but when you can no longer move a unit (when they get blended) and they are sitting there taking a rain of fire, I feel like something is off.

I noticed something that many a times I had hoplites standing still and getting smacked by jav dudes or rocks because they made the enemy rout, and just stand there after the melee dudes run off.

Makes micromanaging 3 fights hard, that give very little information on what is happening, compared to Shogun 2, which is what I've played the most.

^ yeah, they icon of 'Iddle' still works but I don't comprehend troops being iddle in the center of an enemy army -.-
at least have a "oh we should help these lads out" mechanic

I lost a unit of elite Gladiators (full equip + exp) because my full hp praetorians felt like watching them die to 2 enemy units

I'm not going to get deep into this until they fix it up. I played last night and one of my units was close enough to an enemy unit to lean in and steal kisses, yet weren't attacking. Neither side were attacking. They were perfectly lined up... Just staring at eachother.

So dumb.
