Ignore that guy who made that thread saying that they don't.

He's a filthy liar. We ride them all the time. Sometimes we lash together several and ride them like one of those Skiing Pyramids at water shows.

In closing: Kangaroos; Excellent transportation option.

Lies! Lies and slander!

Everybody knows that Australians don't ride kangaroos! ...they do surf on wombats though.

In the pouch or on the back?
Simply put, the pouch is a horrible place to be when in motion.

We usually reserve that for a phat subwoofah.

Add this pic to the OP as proof.

He is very obviously riding a kangaroo and therefore, this proves that Aussies do ride kangaroos.

If Aussies ride kangaroos, do your outback-policeforce use them as mounts? You know, like the Canadian rangers that use moose instead of horses?

and here I thought you just hitched up koala's like us Canadians do our dog sleds once you cross the US/Canada border. Maybe koala's are the sports car version while kangaroos are the pick-up trucks (would make sense since they have the cargo space)

Oh come on. That's quite obviously a Photoshop. Here's why:

1. Where the hell is his saddle? You simply can't ride one of those things without a decent beer-soaked leather saddle.

2. The Australian government passed a law requiring a helmet on all marsupial-based transit (Article 1.30: Marsupial and Mammalian-based transit health and safety act, 1975)

3. He's in completely the wrong riding position, he'll never get anywhere safely like that.

In Australia, Santa's sled is pulled by kangaroos. Look it up on googleimage, there's tons of pics.

Though, in the US kangaroos have magic powers and eat people. Google that too...WTF?
