Barack Obama Comes To Street Fighter

No, he's not unlockable in Street Fighter 4, sadly. But he's going to be playable in the oddball Japan-only Street Fighter Online: Mouse Generation [http://www.daletto.com/pc/sfo/], and it looks like he can sling fireballs with the best of them.

Sporting a debonair tuxedo and cartoonishly big teeth (yeah, I don't know), Obama [http://www.gpara.com/article/cms_show.php?c_id=11616&c_num=14] seems like a force to be reckoned with in Street Fighter Online. You can make him say "YES WE CAN" in a gigantic word bubble, and he's got a standard fireball attack too. He also looks like he's been training with Balrog - Virtua Fighter 2 looking graphics aside, this version of the Commander In Chief is decidedly beefy. He'll be arriving in the game on Valentine's Day as part of a promotion that also includes playable chocolate figurine chracters and a Zangief who has what look like clam shells for shoulder guards?

If you really want to play as Obama in a fighting game, I'd say dig around for the inevitable Omega Tom Hanks [http://www.mugenation.com/]. You probably do not want to play Mouse Generation. It's online yes, which is cool, but it's also a Street Fighter that is solely controllable using your mouse. You left-click to punch, right-click to kick and swoop around your mouse like a fool to do special moves. The character models are based on action figures, and body parts can be swapped between them (like action figures) to make customized characters. So, Barack Obama torso and head, Zangief arms and Chun-Li legs? Yes, please.

Now, as for the real question here: Is this racist [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/89242-Resident-Evil-5-Coverage-Reignites-Racism-Debate]?

Everything is racist. Barack Obama should have a super awesome megadeath attack that kills you and all the character you were going to play as. He could face off against Chuck Norris. It would be a battle for the ages.

Does this make Barrack Obama the first U.S president to be playable in a video game?

As an American, I think its funny. Come on, the minute you become an iconic figure in America (or any country really) you will be made into a cartoon/video game character/comic book character. Its kinda like an homage of sorts.

No. I know that Bill Clinton was playable in NBA Jam. And George Clinton, if you needed someone a bit more funky.

I think it's pretty neat. Though kind of unfortunate that the game isn't available to play in the US :p

As Indigo_Dingo pointed out above, he was in Mercs 2 (along with Sarah Palin - remember her?!?!?).

This american supports anything that shows Barrack in a ridiculous situation.

NOW lemme clarify. He's one of the neatest person I've ever witnessed in my life, He's up there in my book with Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Philip Zimbardo as people who are super fun to listen to.

Now that said I LOVE playing games with him in them ;p. Because its fun to see him in a ridiculous situation, sort of like chuck norris, but unlike Chuck Norris I actually like him. (Personal opinion I know Norris is a love, but seeing as my last name is Walker I hate anything involved with Walker Texas Ranger).

America makes parody's of everyone and sometimes you will see it in other parts of the world, not saying it's a bad thing unless Obama gets offended!
