Those TDM servers are gonna be empty. And people are saying there's no dedi servers in MW3. When did they say that? Is it confirmed?

Team Deathmatch? I'm sceptical. I liked the addition of Rush, since it is fast paced yet has objectives you need to carry out on a constantly moving battlefield. But Team Deathmatch? Where's the strategy and team spirit in that?
Also, the sound in BC2 on a proper 5.1 system is amazing. Sound in BF3 is probably going to be more awesome than TDM if you ask me.

No prizes for guessing what 'Battelog' is supposed to be competing with.

I'm looking forward to co-op. I'll just have to actually find someone who'll be willing to play Battlefield 3 instead of Modern Warfare 3.

Well it's still multiplayer based, so I'll pass. A tacked on co-op campaign isn't going to cut it with me. EA is going to have to really work hard on the co-op before I even get near the fence about buying this.

It was also announced the game would feature Team Deathmatch, which is kind of like announcing the game will feature sound options, at this point.
Actually most Battlefield games don't have team deathmatch, it's always objective-based. Unless you count squad deathmatch from BF2.

Also, it won't dethrone CoD because CoD is easier to pick up and people are dumb. But I know what I'll be playing.

(...three years from now when the price drops.)

The only reason I wouldn't get this is because my friends won't stop going on about how amazing it will be, which is what thay said about Call of Duty until it became popular to hate it. For a while they loved MW2, then just started hating the entire franchise.

Made me laugh a bit. Hey, I'm bored.
Though I don't know why the escapist thinks that. This is actually a big thing to someone who has paid ANY attention to any of the battlefield games. The closest thing we have had to TDM in Battlefield apart from a few maps in the AIX mod for Battlefield 2 (which ofcourse, is a MOD) was squad deathmatch in Bad Company 2.

And I know its a small thing and no offence to the Moderator who posted this news but I noticed the Escapist does not know shit about battlefield. as a Battlefield fanboy (I am being honest here as I know my opinion is biased. But when you love a game this much its going to be...) Battlefield has never been one of those copypasta FPS's (BC1 and BC2 notwithstanding...).

While I am worried very little about its inclusion (believe me... its worse... but most people know that) TDM is a strange choice as it does seem if DICE are kneeling to the console crowd. I liked its lack of inclusion, because sure, there was not alot of teamwork for a great part of BF2's life, but compared to CoD the game looked like a milsim with the amount of teamwork it did have, and as a BF1942 player and they would say that there was NONE.

How about how BC isn't a core battlefield title, and the core titles have /always/ featured TDM? Does that work better?

OT:

W00T, co-op :p One thing I was NOT expecting

This is the reason I love dice. Thanks guys for not milking the franchise like some other companies.

Meanwhile CoD's campaign is not co-op, and theres no servers, IW is sooo jelly right now.
IW doesn't really exist anymore. But people keep insisting on referring to it.

Hmm. I am skeptical. I don't particularly want any more CoD in my BF. Squad DM was a good, interesting change that fit in with BF's style, and it servers were small enough that I don't think it lured too many players in it's icy, non-objective based grip.

I am afraid of the day I boot up BF3 a year after release and there are no Conquest and Rush modes being playing anymore, only TDM. And I fear BF4 saying that they are "listening to the community" and replacing all their modes with TDM variants.

"Puh-shaw!" you say. "That will never happen in Battlefield!" You say. But, like Smokey says: Only you can prevent dumb Multiplayer modes. Say no to TDM servers.

Nobody plays the squad death match on Bad Company 2 and conquest and rush modes are usually full so I wouldn't worry.

Umm....... BRING BACK TITAN MODE! GFD that stuff was so much fun. But NO 2142 died off for me well before it time.

Wait they got rid of the dedicated servers again? Jeez wasn't that the only thing that made Black Ops somewhat playable?
