A friend and I recently watched this Anime, and seeing as how I never go to any other forums, I had a question I wanted to bring to other Beck fans on the escapist:
(If you've never seen the show and would not want any spoilers, no matter how minor, nows the time to get out)
Ryusuke: Troll or Total Bro?
As an older brother myself, I would get a laugh out of shit disturbing the same way Ryusuke seems to(to reiterate, someone gets hurt every time a condom leaves his hand). And his reasoning for ditching/sending Yukio and Maho on a dinner together was pretty legit(he needed to recruit the bass player before someone else did). So while I agree that he has "acted like a bro" in giving Yukio a nudge towards his sister, I don't think the message was "go bone my sister" so much as "here, I'll probably laugh about this later".

Ryusuke: Troll or Total Bro?
Twice in the show, he gives Yukio condoms, the first time resulting in Yukio getting hit/yelled at, the second resulting in Ray getting hit/yelled at.
Trollsuke: I'm inclined to believe that Ray, while a bit of a bro, knows full well his sister is not sexually active(we're never given any hints suggesting otherwise in the show) and how she'd react if Yukio(intentionally or not) pulled a condom while at her house. (Ray and Maho are only 2 years apart, and they're close enough for Ray to have written a song about her, I think that's sufficient evidence to infer the last sentence)
Brosuke: to make this as simple as possible, I'll just list the events and let the evidence speak for itself
-Ray brings Yukio with him to pick up his sister
-decides to ditch and tells Yukio to take his sister out to dinner
-Ray, after remarks made by other band members about how much time Yukio and Maho were spending together, gives Yukio a condom before he goes with Maho to her house
-Maho and Ray drop by Yukio's house late one evening(I assume they stayed later than Maho's last train, so she was stranded in that part of town for the night, her only options to crash being Ray's or Yukio's, and she states she preferred the latter's) Ray decides to go home while Maho stays the night, before leaving Ray hands Yukio 2 condoms.
