No this is a direct response to Microsofts "Natal" The timing is too coincidental.

Natal seems....more original then Sony's bland move.

There's nothing new about Natal, it's basically EyeToy 2.0

I'm completely underwhelmed by this "controller".

I think it's probably because I PREFER having big, 30mm buttons to bash while playing.
But also because this controller stinks of desperation.
Welcome/This

You can almost smell the desire for casual gaming income.

On a personal level, I know I don't need it...... I already have a Wii.
They should have opened up the sextoy option and called it the PStimulate.

Unlike the Wii which only has Wii remotes.
I really don't get why people keep saying this...
Call me ignorant, but I honestly didn't know the Wii had a regular controller. I've never seen one. They only ever advertise the remote. At least I've only ever seen advertisements for the remote.

If that's not a black glowing wiimote, then I don't know what it is.

Natal is at least more innovative, but I still see no point. They're both novelties that will wear off quickly, and can't be played for longer than a few minutes at a time.

It only rips off the Wii.
it only does what the wii does, now better graphics and a games that wont suck
yep because graphics are everything and the Wii is failing because all of its games are terrible, wait no, the opposite is what's happening. And therefore not all of its games suck.

PS3: It only emulates the competition.

The PlayStation Move is going to be out on shelves in Fall '10 (that's this year, in case you'd forgotten) and should really just have been named the PlayStation Kevin Butler.
If they made a game of Kevin Butler, I'd definitely buy it.

Twice.

Slightly off topic about what you said in that particular post but you seem to have some knowledge about it. is there a way to plug the "classic controller" into the wii. cause as far as I know it seems you can only plug it into the wii mote. which I don't like doing because batteries are expensive, and my charger only works while the system is on (seriously, why have a charger that only charges when you want to use the controller).

Oh yes, Natal doesn't in anyway seem like Playstation Eye, nope, not at all....

Well, advertising only tends to focus on the 'unique' features of a system, and honestly, when you think of a wii, do you really think of a normal game controller?
Still, the main reason it exists is because of the Virtual Console.

When you look at the classic controller, the design looks very similar to an SNES controller.
... Which should be a clue as to what it was made for. (and with the Virtual Console supporting games from everything from the NES, Sega Genesis, SNES, N64 and even Commodore 64, the features it has make perfect sense.)

... I'm afraid not. Personally, I use normal rechargable NIMH AA batteries, which means I can recharge them seperately, and can always have a replacement set.

Of course, you could try getting a gamecube controller; It works in most situations that a classic controller is intended for...
Unfortunately, it has a layout that isn't too great for most VC console games...
Can't have everything, unfortunately.

Oddly enough still more original then Sonys move.

Hmm. Looks familiar. Where have I seen something like this before?
Oh yeah! Only that little white thing released 3 years ago that sold like cupcakes laced with crack.

It's one thing to peek and your neighbors exam paper but its a bit obvious when you copy word for word what they've written.

Seriously, why don't they just paint it white and take the lightbulb off the end. That way Nintendo can file a lawsuit, Sony can fire it's gaming R&D department and we can forget this ever existed.

I dunno I saw a similar idea at the Science Museum in Boston for the last 15 years or so, only theirs used projection. Ultimately all three ideas remind me of being that guy at an electronics store who goofs off in front of the cameras.

The glowing pastel bulb on top of it is ridiculous, but after watching that trailer I have to admit it looks totally badass - if it works like advertised. Like they set out with one goal in mind, and that is to one-up the Wii.

i don't see why the name or look should matter. a rose by any name would smell as sweet. and i dont care if its fugly as long as it works. isn't that what gaming is about? having fun? so y do we have to have a pretty controller? thats very vain and shallow. and what was the first thing you thought when you saw the wii? i thought "score! motion sensitive fps!" well, maybe we'll actually get some on a console that can actually handle it and be uber awesome online or in campaign. and besides, isnt kind of sony's thing to be straightforward in their names? im not saying everybody should buy this, but how about we give it a chance to fail before we start bashing something that we havent even touched yet.
