I grew up on the Playstation, and my favorite game was hands-down G-Police. It's a fairly obscure title, but I bet if it were remade on one of todays systems it would be pretty epic.

Pokemon Silver/Gold first came out in 1999. In Japan anyway.

If you won't accept that, I'll pick Pokemon Yellow. ^_^
I am gunna go with this. The Pokémon games played a vital part in my gaming childhood and I hold their memory dear.
I'll be honest. I cried when my cousin lost my copy of Yellow. To this day, I have not found it.

and to be really weird and add the best 90's game no one has heard of Space Station Silicon Valley... it was the first GTA game in a way and gave you the ability to play as a large variety of animals to solve puzzles.
and yes it did exist
Oh shit I remember that, a friend had it. Any game that let's you take over robotic anything is awesome.

Gods above and below... The 90's...

That's a damned hard question! I guess final fantasy 6 or Xenogears...

No Kirby love here eh? With all the other great titles I'm saying Kirby's Adventure on the NES.

The lack of EarthBound in this thread makes me disappoint faster than you can say "fuzzy pickles."

How can you people have forgotten Myst? Sure the music puzzle sucked something awful, but the rest of the game was brilliant. You, as the player, are put into this world and the only clue you have are, well, nothing. It was awesome. I could neer figure out what to do in riven though.

Aww, that sucks, but if you think that's bad: I put 300 hours plus into Pokémon Silver and Yellow, and both have lost their save batteries. :( I had a level 100 Charizard, and a Mewtwo.

X-Com series.
Definitely X-com.

Lets see what else, ooh! Monkey island (1990) and monkey island 2 (1991).

Day of the Tentacle (around 1993)

Sam & max Hit the road (again 1993)

Syndicate (was 1993? I think.)

Fallout (was around 1997)

Shadow of the beast 2 (1990)

Dune and Dune 2 (both in 1992 as I recall)

Half-Life, Homeworld, Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid. Pick one, because I sure can't.
