Best Games set in empty worlds

Playing Panzer Dragoon Saga recently has really solidified how much I love empty and abandoned worlds in games. Other examples that come to mind of a similar fashion are Shadow of the Colossus, Ico and Journey. I was wondering, does anyone else have any suggestions with similar feeling settings?

I assume by empty you mean devoid of any populated areas where people dwell?

The 2D-ish puzzle platformer Fez sort of counts.

There's a lot of games that have areas like this, but few that fully go with it in the same extent as the ones you mentioned.

Okay, at least there's
Those are literally the three games I came here to mention.

I'll throw in Metroid Prime, if you have a Gamecube or Wii. Though just the first two games, they get the empty world and sense of isolation spot on. The only other one I can think of is Limbo. But my top votes would be the first two Metroid Primes

It's still in early access, but The Long Dark looks promising.
You can find it on Steam, it's a survival game set in northern Canada during winter after some event that has caused most modern technology to stop working.

honestly I do not like many early access games especially the "survival genre" however subnutica keeps drawing me back in, its still not nearly done on steam but what is there is amazing....

when this thing is done I honestly think it will be a genre definer for sure, there are no "lethal" weapons outside the knife meaning you have to try and outsmart the opposition in each zone to explorer to scan and to claim more blue prints and materials to build. Its not multiplayer so the sense of solitude when your alone in your sea base, with pressure creaking on the glass can feel quite real at times, especially if you have a VR headset (it supports it).

Titan Souls? It's clearly aping Shadow of the Colossus. Also Myst and all of its pretenders therein (Talos Principle, The Witness).
