I'm sure a lot of you are in similar binds as I am. Bored and want a new game but just can't spend 60 bucks for a new game. So you turn to XBLA for something to numb the pain until you find a job (which is extra difficult for me since I'm not turning 15 for a few more weeks). So you scroll through demo after demo, review after review but find nothing good. So for the service of all you Escapists out there lets compile a list of the best Arcade games under 800 points. 1200 is also good but kind of pushing it.

In my experience I'd go with N+ for lasting appeal. Castle Crashers and Dishwasher Dead Samurai are up there but those got boring after the first run through or two. N+ is the only game I can go back to once in a while.

Afterthought: A lot of people are talking about Battlefield as being amazing but from my demo it just seems like Call of Duty 3 with airplanes. Is there something else that just isn't in the demo that makes it worth spending 15 bucks even if i already have COD 3?

I Made A Game With Zombies. Great little indie game. Only have to pay like 50p/$1 for it. It's a twin stick shooter with 4 player local co-op and it plays pretty well for it's price.

I played that demo but couldn't figure out what was going on or how to shoot. I never though about it being twin stick.

Yea I'd give it another go but use the right stick to shoot. None of the other buttons do anything as you probably found out.

But it's got an interesting, original soundtrack, it looks quite pretty and overall is the best value for money I've paid for any game probably.

Yeah I've been looking at that. 1200 is out of my current price range but hopefully around my birthday I'll get money and actually be able to find a job.

How about you pay an extra five bucks and get Battlefield 1943. It's great fun and I love it plus it feels like a full game instead of an arcade game.

I know that it's 1200 Microsoft points but, I don't recommend but beg of you to download Battle Field 1943.

I honestly don't understand how you can't find an easy way to make $5 and buy something like Battlefield 1943, Shadow Complex, or Castle Crashers. All of them are great, and $5 more is worth it.

When I'm bored out of my mind I just play the Pac-Man demo. Best money I never spent.

I never said I couldn't it would just be easier to only spend 800. Like I said I have no job and money is really tight around my house so five dollars isn't impossible to find just hard.

Do some chores around the house and ask your parents for $5 for doing them. Seems pretty easy, to me. And get Battlefield 1943. It will last a very, VERY long time.

Yea i liked the demo, but how much different is the full version exactly? Is it the same only with a few more enemy's or is there a proper reason to buy the full version?
The trial is basically the start of the full game as far as I was aware. I think the full game is about 3x as long roughly. There are quite a few more, different enemies and there's a highscore board you can post your best scores on.

But on the whole it's pretty much what you see is what you get.

It's not a game, but Broken Steel for Fallout 3 will greatly increase it's lifespan.

If not that, Geometry Wars 2 is good, if only for a little while...
I completely agree on Broken Steel. As for geometry wars how much different is the full game form the demo besides the obvious more levels and stuff.

I never played the demo, but the full game has 6 levels that are all fun.
Doesn't the demo come with your xbox? How did you not play it?
