OT only xbox I've gotten rid of was due to RROD, and before it went to that scrap pile in the sky it was:
1: Dropped out of a 4 story building
2: Sat on by my cat
3: Dropped out of a 5 story building
4: Put in a dishwasher
5: Dropped out of a 8 story building
6: Attacked with a lump hammer, crowbar and a nail gun (not recommended, the nails just bounced)
7: Dropped out of a 8 story building (again)
RIP original 360, RIP!
Did you happen to record record all that and put it on YouTube?putowtin said:OT only xbox I've gotten rid of was due to RROD, and before it went to that scrap pile in the sky it was:

For shame, Greg Tito. For shame.Greg Tito said:Beware: Your Old Xbox Stores Personal Information
She recommends removing your Xbox hard drive and wiping it clean with a specific formatting application like Boot and Nuke [http://www.dban.org/] to completely erase information from the magnetic disks. In fact, you should use this kind of application whenever you want to discard old hard drives and your worried about someone nicking your CC number.
Why thank you!Krion_Vark said:What? WHy? SOunds awesome though I do have to say.putowtin said:OT only xbox I've gotten rid of was due to RROD, and before it went to that scrap pile in the sky it was:

Some one recorded it, but I don't know what happened to the footage (It'll probably show up in the next Michael Bay film!)Fijiman said:And now I know what I'm not going to do with the old hard drive when I upgrade to one with more space.(60GB just don't cut it these days)

Well yeah, they only delete the headers and its there as lnog as you dont overwrite it. but that is reasonable because wiping a large HDD is a very long work. would you be willing to wait for a 3-4 hour "wiping" when you reinstall windows? i doublt many users would chose that over "quick hide everything and let me use it". besides, msot people dont store information worth stealing anyway, and those that do often already know how to wipe it."I think Microsoft has a longstanding pattern of this," Podhradsky said. "When you go and reformat your computer, like a Windows system, it tells you that all of your data will be erased. In actuality that's not accurate - the data is still available."
