BioShock 2 Posters Reveal a Hidden Secret

It turns out that the BioShock 2 [http://www.amazon.com/Bioshock-2-Xbox-360/dp/B0016BVYA2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1278970338&sr=1-1] Collectors Edition contains a double-secret, super-cool surprise, but you might have to put some work into seeing it for yourself.

The BioShock 2 Collectors Edition [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/98139-BioShock-2-Special-Edition-Unboxing] is beyond sweet. Packaged in a ridiculously huge box, it includes a hardcover coffee table art book, a full-sized vinyl LP, three prints of posters from Rapture and, of course, the game. And, it turns out, a secret.

Compared to the LP and the art book, the three prints were most noteworthy for the fact that they at least didn't take up a lot of space. Or so it seemed; yet as one quicked-eye 2K forum user revealed, they might be the coolest part of the whole thing.

"I put the posters up in my man cave the other day and had some friends over," wrote [http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60966] a user by the name of JRoch. "They were messing around with an old black light I found and I was surprised and delighted to see that there are hidden messages on each of the three posters!"

Is that incredibly cool or what? Community Manager Elizabeth Tobey seemed pleased that two weeks after release, somebody finally discovered them, saying succinctly, "Well would you look at that. ;)" I think 2K Games [http://www.2kgames.com/] may have just racked up a year's worth of gamer cred in one fell swoop.

Photos and videos of the hidden messages have been posted on Photobucket [http://s844.photobucket.com/albums/ab6/BioshockFan52/Hidden%20Message/?action=view&current=IMG_0781.jpg], showing the hidden messages in all their glory. I don't happen to have a black light kicking around so I can't see the effect first-hand (although I think a shopping trip might be in order) but if you do, try it for yourself and let us know how it goes!

Also shows up if you shine a laser on it, but I only now that from certain invisible inks... Try it!

That is freakin' AWESOME.

2K Games may be borderline evil with their activation policies, but you gotta admit, they got style.

And now I'm even sadder that I did not have the money to go buy the special edition. That has to be the coolest thing ever for game bonuses.

This is kind of ridiculously awesome. I wish there were a hidden Pipboy in my Fallout 3 lunchbox now. Or some cherry bombs. Heck, I'd even settle for a bottlecap.

That did take a little time to discover. In the 80's it would have been known the next day.

That's fantastic, and I already loved the basic posters. Damned shame I'm not allowed to put them up though. Well on my door and drawer, but they look crap on that. Shame I lack a blacklight as well.

This reminds me of when I bought NIN's Year Zero (Support the good bands)... The disk is heat sensitive (Changes color from dark to tan)... Very awesome to realize...
