I was just thinking, will bioshock 2 be like systemshock 1? or will it follow system shock as it did with the first game. I'm thinking we'll end up with the unmade SystemShock3!

I'm pretty sure that there WAS a System Shock 2. Honestly, I don't care if it's like the SS games because I've never played them. Yahtzee and the other uber-oldschool gamers need to shut up about it being a dumbed-down SS2. (I'm not THAT young though...Thief 1 was one of my favorite games back in 7th grade when it was released.)

Unless your grammar caused me to misunderstand your post.

Dude... uh... Bioshock was a successor to the System Shock games in spirit only. Notice how the former was set underwater in the past and the latter was on a spaceship in the future, among other key differences. In addition, I believe there already was a System Shock 2, so I'm not sure what an "unmade SystemShock2" would be. Care to explain, please? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding.

EDIT: Gah, spent too long on Wikipedia and got ninja'd. Point stands, however.

No, because you would have to have rubber fingers to play it. Just downloaded it recently on Abandonia and I forgot how complex the controls were.

Bioshock is just a dumbed down System Shock 2. If Bioshock 2 was like a dumbed down System Shock 1 then it might be as awesome as Shock2 as Shock2 was a dumbed down Shock1. I don't know what Shock1 was a dumbed down version of but if someone was to release a dumbed down version of that it might be dumber or smarter than Bioshock 2. Who would know?

This conversation makes me think I should re-install System Shock 2 on my PC and see what it was ages ago. Maybe I will look at it in a different light now I have matured more.

I realize this has been said already, but I will reiterate. Bioshock is a "spiritual successor" to System Shock and nothing else. System Shock already has a sequel, it's called System Shock 2.

IF they EVER make a new sequel for System Shock, I'll be a bit annoyed. Each time a villian fails to take over the universe or succeed in their ultimate goal, they edge away from villany and become little more than a running joke (just look at bowser if you want to see where it leads). In the first game, SHODAN was god of a little piece of the universe. In the second game she begins with so little power she relies on a "pathetic creature of meat and bone", and eventually attains truly godlike power. Where can you go from there that doesn't make her seem pathetic.
