Sounds like the status quo, when isn't the dragon age world hovering on the edge of chaos?Andy Chalk said:BioWare Confirms Dragon Age III: Inquisition
According to the rumor, Dragon Age III will be subtitled Inquisition and take place in the land of Orlais, where the Templars have turned away from the Chantry, mages are rebelling and the world hovers on the edge of chaos.
Statements that include that have somewhat lost the ability to peak my interest of late."a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization." The studio doesn't want to talk too much about the game until it's got something to show, Darrah explained, so everything else is hush-hush right now.
The Female voice actor for Hawke was much better. I did not like DA 2 but I cannot fault most of the voice acting. Play the opening as a male Hawke and you will hear how bad it is.Rachel Veigh said:One of the things i really liked about DA:2 was the fact that Hawke was voiced and I thought the dialogue wheel was fairly straightforward, rarely did Hawke say something I wasn't expecting, but then I got very used to the dialogue wheel in ME and think it really adds to a game. I have replayed Origins a number of times and it never fails to annoy me how emotionless the Warden is, no matter what race or gender they are they have the same blank face and don't seem to be affected by whats going on. Hawke at least seems to care (if you choose the diplomatic dialogue options) or at least reactions emotionally to situations. I also liked that Hawke's dialogue in cut scenes change depending on what personality Hawke has, so if you play through once as a Diplomatic Hawke and then again as a Charming/Sarcastic Hawke then you'll hear different lines. I think that is a great touch.Mcoffey said:Agree to disagree. I found pretty much every change they made to Origins in making DA2 a change for the worse.Sonic Doctor said:snip
The dialogue wheel is always bad, because it obfuscates what the character is actually saying. All you know is a three word, often misleading, summary and how much of an asshole Hawke/Shepard was going to be when they said it.
If they have to keep that awful system in, I'd rather it be like Deus Ex: Human Revolutions, in that the short summary expands into what you're actually going to say when you highlight the option. And I liked Hawke less simply because he was voiced. His voice actor sounded unlikable regardless of inflection. Give me the Grey Warden any day.
As for the voice acting, I never played male Hawke, but the voice acting for female Hawke was great, I really felt Hawkes personality in her voice, but then I also think Female Shepards voice actor, Jennifer Hale is better then Male Sheps.
This is awesomeness at its finest. Thank yousoren7550 said:First thing that came to mind when I saw what the game was called:
When I read all of this, my initial take was 'Well, you want to do better than DA2. What a high -fucking- bar you've set for yourself, Bioware.' I'm still embittered by ME3, and by DA2. I expect another watered-down piece of crap, but I'm open to the idea that it might redeem the series. Maybe. Prolly not.CardinalPiggles said:YES!!! DA2 was way too small for my liking."a more expansive world,
Don't care, did you just say that to please your whip handlers?better visuals,
Always a good thingmore reactivity to player choices,
This is another thing that DA2 lacked, let's hope they keep their promises. And of course keep that Bioware magic flowing by delivering great characters.and more customization."
As one of those numbers who bought both I'm not making the same mistake and pre-ordering Dragon Age 3. I'll waint till a Steam sale... I mean Origin sale... You know what screw this, one of my Kickstarter RPG's would have matured by then and while it might not have 'better visuals' it will be a damm sight better than the dross that was DA2.FelixG said:I have to say, its a skeptical wait and see. First was great, second was horribad, third might be average maybe?
And no, DA2 wasnt good, because, ya know, "good" games sales die damn quick when people start to play it and how horrible it is is revealed right?
I cant wait to see this little gem updated.
I personally liked DA2 to be honest. Of course it was nothing like what they promised, having major design flaws and being generally linear and small for an RPG, but for the price I paid for it, it was a pretty good game. I still don't think it deserved a five star rating though.John-Christopher Matyskiel said:When I read all of this, my initial take was 'Well, you want to do better than DA2. NO ONE expects the Dragon Age Inquisition!Andy Chalk said:BioWare Confirms Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Dragon Age III: Inquisition is currently expected to be out in late 2013.
Personally, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with you for not having any fun playing those games.Rocklobster99 said:Disliking DA2 made me a homophobe
Disliking ME3 made me entitled
Disliking TOR made me a whiner and a troll.
I'm looking forward to see what new buzzword EA will unveil for this game.
Fanboyism in its purest form:the games have widespread loathing and negative criticism, but they're really super special awesome and people are just knit-picking so they're opinions are wrong. No blind-faith praising of SWTOR while you're at it?
Also, LAAAAAAAAWL at people who actually think Dragon Age 2 was good. You need to either have extremely low standards or DA2 is your first game ever.
...that so many have a problem with me liking them? You can disagree all you want, but that doesnt change the fact DA2 was a steaming pile of horse manure, and ME3 finally made me appreciate The End of Evangelion.
