I like the idea, but I suck at MMOs. Plus, we all know how stupid people get when they congregate in big groups over the internet.

That said, if it happens and Geth is a playable race, I might consider giving in...

Have you seen a Krogan, Drell, Salarian, or Turian woman in any of the games? Have you seen any females of the lesser important races; Elcor? Batarians? Vorcha? Volus?

Of course not.

I fully realize they "have" females, but I chose to make a comment insinuating at the fact that none have actually appeared in the games -- I suppose next time I'll spell that sort of thing out.
Krogan females we haven't seen because of how valuable fertile ones are with the genophage and all. Drell are practically an endangered species. Only 10% of the salarian population are female and are thusly very important to their society, holding high positions of power.

As for the less prominent races, how do YOU know you haven't seen females? For all we know, male and female could be indistinguishable for everyone outside of the species. (I most certainly wouldn't be surprised if this was so for elcor, volus, and batarians.)
If you want to get technical, you do see a female krogan corpse during Mordin's loyalty quest.

It makes sense because Mass Effect has some of the most rabid fanboys on the internet that can be suckered into buying anything with the N7 logo on it.

I apologize if someone else said it, but this makes less sense than a Halo MMO. At the very least, Halo has two opposing factions to follow the WoW (and all its subsequent clones) model. Would they really string together a series of encounters with mercs, non-humanoid aliens, more mercs, some collectors, even moar mercs and then some big bad that everyone has to rally against?

But this ain't Bioware's fault. It's EA's.

I would definately not want this. Hell, I dont even want multiplayer. Screw you Bioware. If you're gonna make a different game, MAKE A DIFFERENT GAME!

You'd have excellent points if we didn't visit a Krogan world in ME2 (with dead females conveniently covered), if Thane didn't have flashbacks, if there were less than 10 Salarian in the entire game.

As for the less prominent races, I suppose I assume we haven't seen females. The indistinguishable thing would be a nice card to play had the voices and behavior of the NPCs not all pointed to male, or more apparently, they were stated as male by themselves, another character, etc. Also, to be frank, I just don't think Bioware is clever enough for this.

Personally I think the reason they haven't included females of more races is simply because they can't come up with a way to make them sexy enough to peddle to horny kids.

I have a feeling this might not bode well at all, seeing what community does to nearly anything present on the internet. Especially games.

Why do I get the feeling that EA is behind this push for multiplayer all of a sudden? I can tolerate BioWare making an MMO set in Mass Effect's universe. I probably wouldn't buy it because I don't believe in subscription fees, but if they seriously make Call of Mass Effect, words will not be able to describe my white-hot rage.

What's with developers getting more and more obsessed with turning perfectly good franchises into MMO's? Oh, right, publishers.

NONONONONONONOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Mass Effect is a space opera, if you would put it into a MMO feel it would loose all of it's charm.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T DO IT!

Makes sense. Bioware have just spent large amounts time and money building and MMO engine set in space with gun combat and a class with ability push and pull things at distance, sound familiar? In other words the engine has all the mechanics already built into it for a mass effect MMO. Plus they already have large amounts of textures and skins already developed for Mass effect enabling a much cheaper and quicker development cycle by putting the two together.

The biggest joys of Mass Effect came from feeling like the hero of the galaxy, having unparallelled freedom and importance. You don't get that in an MMO.

Go for it. The best moments in the Mass Effect games are the ones spent bumbling around taking in the ambient socio-political climate. Less embarking on epic quests, more day-to-day worldbuilding.
