Just be happy that more people get to play a great game. I don't know why some people get off on being the "first fans" and love for people to be excluded. I know I'm happy for the people who haven't been able to play it yet.
I'm happy PS3 owners get to play it, but it does kinda feel like a kick in the nuts that we had to pay all the stuff they're being given free, and that the game doesn't look as nice on our version.

I hope ME3 is released simultaneously on all platforms and is exactly the same on each.
I think of of the downloadable content being included as part of the trade-off for paying full-price for a year old game. None of the screenshots for the PS3 version seem to look better than the 360 version. I think BioWare might just be overselling some to help alleviate concerns about a poor port (of which the PS3 has many). That's just speculation on my part, though.

Another thing. The Comic Book choices for the PS3 are also coming to the PC and 360. This means that people who haven't played the first game will still be able to get a few of the major choices the way they want.

The comic is a great idea in theory, it's just very unfortunate that it turned out so poorly. Many very important facts are outright omitted.

I still feel bad for PS3 owners, getting shafted with the inferior ME2 rather than ME1 on the ME3 engine. Now THAT would be a way to introduce an IP to a platform.
That would be a good idea. I could see ps3 owners jumping in on it with a nice version of the original... or any version of the original. If they did that, then I could see everyone getting upset over it. It's usually the other way around: the ps3 version of a game is all crappy while the 360 version gets the polish and the updates.
I played them on the PC, but if I hadn't, I wouldn't start with the 2nd. Not for a narrative Bioware style rpg. It just seems pretty stupid to only sell the second one, and their defensive stance on it doesn't fill me with a whole lot of confidence either.

You know what... I didn't think of it that way. I guess that is kinda fair.

I still hope everyone gets treated equally next time though.

I'd say this was a cash-in to try draw in as many profits for Bioware before Mass Effect 3 releases but i'm sure someone would defend it by saying something like "It's so PS3 owners can play the whole trilogy!".

Still reeks of money grubbing to me. Great game though.
It's called marketing... dimwit.

Stop saying that shit like this is cash in... offcourse bioware wants money. they also like to include all platforms for a broader audience and selling better than ever before getting more revenue to make more awesome games, hire a even larger crew and make the gameplay of Bioware games better, the stories better (and that is saying something thinking of Biowares excellent repotuiar of good dialog/story in games)

P.S: sorry for seeming a fanboy ( I shamlessly are) but I hate seeing people whine about companies making money which is the main source for getting games out, for making them. Second being the creativity and expressionism.

Er...the game looked fine to me. The graphics were slightly sharper, but the color seemed to be slightly duller. The red hair looked like real red hair (auburn color) instead of the bright red of the 360. But seriously, is this important? All that matters is that it comes out tomorrow on the PS3. Yay!

You know what, Bioware? I used to look up to you guys. You're one of my favorite game developers of all time, and you pull a dick move like this. So tell me, how many people who own PS3s do you guys think have actually played the game before? Unless they own a 360 or a good PC, they most likely haven't. These people havent been waiting for this. Heck, I'm sure plenty of them have no idea what Mass Effect even is. This is nothing but a straight up dick-slap to all the true fans of the game. You know, the people who actually played both of them when they first came out? Congratu f-ing lations for making a new and improved version of a great game, but at the very freaking least you could release it on all platforms as a GotY edition. Instead, you completly blow of the fans in favor of the noobs who might not even buy the game because THEY DON'T F-ING CARE!
Wow, thanks for that. You know, you're so right, since I bought a PS3, I'm obviously an ignorant dolt who doesn't understand what these new fangled "video games" are. I was extremely disappointed when the first one was a 360 only game. I have been waiting for something like this for literally years. But no no, you're right, I don't deserve it. I should just run along and shove my head in the dirt, because I don't deserve to play good games. I for some reason haven't earned that right.

You don't make any sense. Are you saying the only reason people buy games is because they've played them before? Why did you buy Mass Effect 1?

XBOX360 Fanboys, please SFTU!

I own a 360, and i don't have a PS3.
I Have a PC, but it's not a particularly powerful one.
I have played both ME games to completion, including the DLC.
I'm not angry about ME2 coming to PS3, -why is that?

Because I'm a fucking adult.

Here are some points to consider: When ME2 came out on the
XBOX 360, it was (and still is) an awesome friggin game.
For us that bought it on release, we got it A YEAR EARLIER
than the people with PS3.

Also, if you buy the game on the 360 the same day it comes
out on PS3, AND get all the DLC, it will BE CHEAPER ON 360!
(the game has gotten cheaper since it launched, and you can
get a used version in any gamestop store)

Lastly, the people getting it on PS3 will get an awesome game,
but will not get the chance to SAVE THE COUNCIL, to SAVE WREX,
or the myriads of stuff that you could transfer from your save-game
from ME1. It will still be awesome, but they will never have that option.
If they want it, they will have to buy it on 360 or PC...

OTHER PRO'S FOR 360/PC owners/whiners.
ME2 on PS3 has also been a testing ground for the improved
graphics engine used in ME3. Using feedback from that, they
have more data as to what to polish visually in ME3.

With the growth in consumer-base, and economic gain, bioware
can afford putting more work in ME3, take bigger risks, and
make ME3 (confirmed to launch simultaneously on all platforms)
an even greater experience than ME2! (if at all possible).

Everyone whining about a GOTY edition should also remember that
all the awards showering on ME2 basically happened during the last 2
months. Putting together a GOTY edition takes time, and considering
that the last DLC for ME2 came out relatively recently, and that they
might even be making more before ME3 comes, AND that the idea for a
company to waiver a highly profitable product before it starts loosing
profits is a stupid idea in itself...

Can you not just congratulate PS3-owners, say: "welcome to the club, mate"
and fucking rejoice in the combined anticipation of ME3?

Now we just have to hope they don't make any shitty sequels where we find out that Harbinger and Saren were angsty slave teenagers.
No, its the prequels we must worry about. We must fight our urges to see how humanity stumbled upon the first relay monument as well as the First Contact War.
Bioware has had job offerings listed on their site and other places for a multplayer game designer who can "make the mass effect experience multiplayer proof" (or something to that
effect). I'm gonna foresee the future right now, and propose a theory that a multiplayer game, a story-driven shooter set in the Mass Effect universe, might be revealed somewhere around late 2011/early 2012. And it could very well be named "First Contact War".

As long as you don't expect Mass Effect, i really like that idea.

..Even though a mass effect game with co-op would make me jizz gazillions of litres. Because i like the metric system.

Lets point and laugh at the children crying in this topic. Point and Laugh.

HAHAHAHAHA.

Seriously kids. Grow up. 360 and PC got the game a year ago. PS3 folks have had to wait a year. I'm sure it kinda balances things out.

And if you are absolutely desperate to get Mass Effect 2 in HD why don't you just ask your mommies to buy you a PS3?

It goes both ways. On the one hand, Xbox 360 and PC gamers are angry because Bioware is more or less "punishing" them for purchasing the game first and being loyal fans. On the other hand, PS3 gamers are acting like they were somehow entitled to get Mass Effect 2, and that anyone who complains is just a child. Obviously those are generalizations, but that's like me saying that I'm somehow entitled to get Uncharted 2 on my PC with better visuals and having PS3 gamers complain.

Personally, I think it's absolutely fantastic that the PS3 is getting the chance to experience one of my favorite games of all time (though it is a shame that they have to deal with the poorly done interactive comic). I'm merely angry at Bioware for essentially telling me that I bought the inferior version of the game because I bought it on the platform it was originally intended for.

Whether or not the PS3 version actually looks better remains to be seen. So far, neither console can keep up with the PC, especially when I add one of my WIP texture mods that gives the characters 4096x4096 textures.

What engine does Mass Effect run on? I was thinking it was the Unreal engine and if I remember right the PS3 can't run the Unreal engine very well.

I'm sorry. I don't feel like PS3 players don't deserve to play the game, its just that I'm mad that they're making the port much better without any effort whatsoever to improve the original versions of the game.

This is how I'm feeling. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to make the improved version available to all platforms as a Game of the Year Edition (as mentioned in my rage), because then everyone would be happy. Again, sorry I raged. Also sorry to anyone else who I pissed off (I know there's at least 3 more of you).
