I believe Bioware won't fail. No matter what they have in their minds, It'll probably be good.

Seeing as we have a pre-defined character, he won't be silent in dialogues anymore, right? That's the only thing I hated about Dragon Age.

Can't wait, I loved the game. Currently replaying. One of the rare games I can play for the whole day without feeling any need to socialise or eat.

Bioware are gods.

Guys, did none of you play awakening? Where it says the Warden disappears from their happy ending to go chase down what rumors say is a blight in Orlais?

No threads undone my ass.

But that's not even my issue. Notice how Dragon Age is the most popular Bioware game? Here's a thought, it was because it did it's own thing instead of copying it's other games.
Uhh, don't look now but two angry video games just showed up to kick your ass.

I want to know what happens to Morrigan! Hopefully there will be a second expansion, or some DLC.

Still, Yay! DA2! It's official. It also feels quite soon. I wonder how long they've actually been working on it.

Also, since we got a name (assuming its a last name, like Shepard or Cousland), I hope it'll be voiced like ME1&2.

K I'm skeptical.
So we're restricted to playing that one character instead of creating one like the Origins?

Also, gah I was really looking forward to the story being, you know, actually picked up and followed through with Origins, like Morrigan mainly, so I'm not left just wondering forever?

Very curious about this whole "most important in the whole fricking world" thing as well, though, "Hawke" really? The most important person in the whole world's name is Hawke? That sounds like the guy that works as a rock wall climbing instructor :p hehe

Anyways don't mind me, I'm just frustrated the story won't be carried directly from Origins, I'm dying to find out more about Morrigan.

But... the main character has a name and is set in stone like in Mass Effect.
And as a refugee, there aren't any backstories to play with.
If you ask me, that was one of the most fun parts of Dragon Age Origins and changing the formula to be like Mass Effect (which I liked less) is going in the wrong direction.

Does this mean they're going to force us to play as a human? Playing as a human in a fantasy RPG is like choosing accountant for your class. I want to be a dwarf damn it! Or at least a Quinari.
Also: I noticed they didn't say which blight Hawke was a refugee from. Maybe this guy ends up being the first Warden Commander.
Still; I'd rather play as Paragon Aeducan if they're doing that part of the timeline.

What loose thread?
Morrigan's demon-child abomination, of course. Which not everyone will consider "canon" (one of the many failings of the "choose your own adventure" bullshit that modern RPGs insist on using) but certainly significant enough to warrant a follow-up.
You kid me not.

I fucking raged when Morrigan gave me that ultimatimatum, seriously I wanted to punch someone at BioWare for that. That was only because the writong was so good but whatever, I demand SOME kind of follow up.

But she was pregnent with your child no even if you did not do the demon thingy, atleast if that epilogue thing is to be beileved. Said something like "Morrigan was spoted at [some place], witness said that she looked pregnant, rumers says that it was [charaters name]'s love child."

And seeing what BioWare has done with Mass Effect, some kind of follow up is to expect.

On the other hand, Morrigan was the unholy spawn of Captain Janeway, and besides, she disapproves.

I'unno. Maybe Hawke is just a name. Maybe it's not.

I thought the Origin aspect of the original was very interesting, and I'd hate to see them sacrifice that.

I'm hopefully optimistic though, since Origins was probably my favorite game from last year.

As long as there is some level of character customization, I don't mind the restriction implied with the whole Hawke-thing. I think it worked well in Mass Effect, and I'm confident that BioWare can pull it off within the Dragon Age universe.

Players will take on the role of Hawke, a refugee from the Blight who becomes "the single most important character in the world of Dragon Age." Even more important than the guy who actually ended the Blight? I'm looking forward to discovering how that's going to work.
He brings it back.

Like Sexy.

The name thing isn't a big deal; I mean its not as if any player entered names were ever used in voice conversations. You either get called "sir", "lord" or some other variant to bypass that problem so what's the big deal with having what looks like a surname?

I for one am looking forward to this ofc; bioware ftw.
