Wait... So no Sten?...
It's too early to know for certain, but it's a fairly educated assumption that nobody from the first game will be returning. Makes me a sad panda, but knowing Bioware, there will be an entirely new cast of characters I'll grow to love.

the second chapter will be an entirely new game set in a completely different part of the world.
Then why not name it "The Revenge of the dildo's 2 - Asaault on the Buttocks?"
Why is it keeping the name but being totally unrelated except the fact that it happens in the same universe??
This is an RPG , not Modern Gayfuckstupid!
Are you trolling, or just swearing to try and draw attention to yourself?

If it's in the same universe, it's still a sequel to the original. The world had been carefully constructed, and has a good amount of lore already made for it. It's not like their going to be making a completely new game or anything, they're just focusing it on a different area that we haven't had the chance to see or explore yet.

What loose thread?
Morrigan's demon-child abomination, of course. Which not everyone will consider "canon" (one of the many failings of the "choose your own adventure" bullshit that modern RPGs insist on using) but certainly significant enough to warrant a follow-up.
Not everyone got that ending though.

I sacrificed Loghain.

Here's hoping for a little more character variety than just the usual high-fantasy trifecta.

Medal of Honor and Call of Duty also focus on the same universe , and also the same areas.
I swore because i just got back from the hardest working day of my life , and i apologize for that because it was really unnecessary,
Portal and Half Life are also based on the same universe , in case you were not aware.

So far so familiar.

But...I've been surprised by Bioware before. Not in its layout, the layout they use for their RPGs these days has become fairly standard I think...but it's the tiny details that always make me go 'Niiiiice' and have me coming back for more.

I not much of a graphics whore but whilst DA:O was an extremely good game, I did feel that the graphics were outdated. But now they're fixing that so this game seems set to be almost perfect.
Also I like that they are setting it somewhere else, with someone else. It'll be nice to explore a different part of the world.

Will we get separate origins again? I really did like that aspect. As for the ending, it's BioWare. They might do a Mass Effect 2 and have choices carry over.

Hang on...the first piece of concept art on that site looks very...JRPGish in graphics. I would welcome that art style, although it's just concept art so that might not be the new direction.

So something just hit me. When the hell did Bioware become so massive that they can simultaneously work on whats possibly the largest (in terms of development size not the game itself) and expensive MMO ever created, Mass Effect 3, AND Dragon Age 2, not to mention whatever secret projects they might be working on that we don't know about??
Probably when they became head of EA's RPG department and took control of other companies working in the same area...

Also, this is unsurprising, considering the comments they made regarding the graphics of this sequel, but still great to hear - the original Dragon Age was a great game, as long as they don't go the Mass Effect 2 route I will be more than happy with the game.

Damn, I really must get around to playing a Bioware game one of these days. They seem to be rather popular...

I don't get to continue my character?
That's it...
So I guess I just married Alister and lived happily ever after?
I feel sad and empty.
I hope it not like awakening were I just call the characters Not-Alister and Not-Morrigan.
