Black and white lines across screen.

Hi there,

I'm having a serious problem with my screen. I have already googled this problem but it didn't really gave me a clear answer. My problem is that I have black and white lines all acress my screen. It bugs me and it certainly ticks me off when I want to play games. People recommended me to buy a new graphics card, I did that and I had the same problem. So.. it's my screen that is the problem. This I know. But why I post this is because I want to ask you to anyone out there who had this problem too or knows what causes it. So... in short:

What causes black and white horizontal lines across my screen? Do I need to use V-Sync in my games? Is it something else?

I think your screen's just had it bud. Time to get a new one.

You probably need a new monitor.

V-Sync has nothing to do with it. When you apply it to a game it just stops the image from being 'cut through' (best way I can describe it) when you look around (or look up or down, the V is for vertical I believe).

A new monitor is the best solution I'd say, although wait for some more answers first.

It's an LCD.

Sounds like an inverter problem, no way to cheaply fix this, if it's out of warranty buy a new one
