Blizzard Wants to Release Diablo III This Year

Activision would never let them take away from the Call of Duty releases in 4thQ.

if anything..it will be spring 2012.

Cataclysm did get released in a 4Q...soooo maybe not.

I still wanna know why Activision comes first in Activision-Blizzard, when everyone knows Blizzard has always been better no matter what they do. If I were Activision, I wouldn't push my weight around. WoW > Activision and that's a scary thought.

I really would love for that to happen too. But I'm not going to get my hopes up too much and expect it to happen, only to be disappointed by a delay. The fact the game is being made is good, so I'm just going to be patient and try not to go crazy over how long it takes to come out.

Bliz has an autonomous standing within Activision. They are not controlled by them and Activision would have little or no say in what Blizzard does.

I wonder if anyone's taking bets on marathon D3 post-release related deaths and how long it'll be before the first one is announced.

I think we've seen some D2 Ladder reset marathon deaths, WoW marathon deaths... but that's just Blizzard games (and no one else cares about other games).

I'm going to guess... 4 days after release.

Bliz has an autonomous standing within Activision. They are not controlled by them and Activision would have little or no say in what Blizzard does.

i never took that into account actually.
ut would probably imagine that the heads of Activision have a say on releases pertaining to higher production franchises.

and i would say Cataclysm came out 4thQ because WOW is a sinking ship and they realy dont need to milk it anymore.

If they're gonna release it this year, I would love it to be some time after June because that game will kill my GCSE exams if it comes out first. I know, I know, self-restraint and all that but... it's DIABLO 3. SELF-RESTRAINT IS NOT A FACTOR.

In fact, if it did come out at the end of June then that would be absolutely perfect, it would be like a little present from me to me for completing mandatory education

it'd be nice, but I'll hafta make time in my schedule to play it, and not neglect the important parts of my life... like my girlfriend, my job, and my household duties, like grocery shopping cleaning and budget planning... still lookin forward to it if they do release it this year i might get to play it like an hour a day or something... still it will be a must have for me one way or another.

Did you guys already forget about the release slate? The slate that has a 100% track record so far and resulted in people being fired at Blizzard?

The slate said Q4 this year, even if that's just an estimate on their part. Q4 in 2011 it is......along with Skyrim, Rage, GeoW 3, Uncharted 3, S2:HoS, ME 3, Ass C 3 and Resistance3.

Same for my A-levels, after my exams would be great as I can fill the time between finishing A-levels and going to Uni in a 'constructive' manner. My parents did say something about getting me something if I did well. <color=white>(I'm already calling BS on that though)
I'm sure I could fit it into my Uni life if it comes out later, sleep's over rated anyway...

Hopefully my boyfriend will understand my need for time to complete it when it finally does get released.
