If there will ever be a console MMORPG, it has to be "dumbed down" a bit. A regular controller can't compete with a keyboard and a mouse. It would make gameplay and socializing awkward and unintuitive.

But that's just the negative me talking. I suppose there might be some way to work around the controll mechanics. I know I'd be interested in playing if they got the gameplay right.
I for one agree with you there. MMOs at this stage of gaming anyway are meant for PCs.

I would go on to say that FPS are meant for PCs too but I'll get labelled as a fanboy so I'll stop at MMOs.

Well, I'm glad one of us had the balls to say it and say it proud. :p

Would you have to subscribe to both xbox live and the MMORPG? If so I would be interested in knowing how much total.
Actually, this problem as been address in Japan for the MMO Monster Hunter on the 360. The way they did it was for every month of Monster Hunter Frontier you bought, you got a month of XBOXLIVE for free. So really, you were just paying for Monster Hunter.

However, on the flip side, FFXI on the xbox allowed you to play the game with a free silver membership. So all you paid for was FFXI and you didn't even need a gold account.

I don't think it should be a problem for Blizz and Microsoft to work something out.
I only have about as much faith to assume that they will work something out and that it will be a complete rip-off to the consumers. However, it would probably be more successful than the DC mmo thing they're doing on PSN. Obviously, gamers on psn are less likely to pay a monthly fee for a game. I don't know what they were thinking.
Well I mean if Square Enix and Capcom can work out a good deal with Microsoft, I don't see why it is out of the question for Blizz to be able to do it.

Since Microsoft is about the chedder, bringing WoW to xbox could be a good move. A game with such a large fan base could only make Live players curious enough to try at least a 1 month subscription. If they do a deal like they did with Monster Hunter Frontier, where to get one month of Live for every 1 month subscription, then both parties will win. Microsoft will win by having more customers online and Blizz will win by having more players and money stream in.

Well thank you I shall keep this in mind if they ever do make one then :)

There's already been a few console MMORPG's. Where have you been?
You mean those few games that failed miserably and you never hear about?
They are only MMO's when people are actually playing.

Anyway, an MMO is unlikely to happen with Microsoft at this point, and is probably impossible on this current system.

What the hell would this MMO game be anyway?
Apparently a Halo one is being considered, but whats the point of getting even more of what we have already had from that dev over the last 10 years but with more players in one match?

Blizzard should kill the idea altogether, there is nothing good coming out of it, at least not anytime soon until major changes can be made.

Not to mention the RTS's, RPG's, stealth and adventure games etc...

Much as I like 'The Box' its not hard to understand that the PC is superior in almost every way.
But consoles do take the cake in ease of use and accessibility, plus they do one thing that the PC can't.

Split screen.

Well, the Japanese are nuts for Monster Hunter aren't they?
Like I said, something like this would have a better chance of success on xbl than psn.
I just find it doubtful that existing wow players will be drawn to another platform for the same game.
And when it comes to American gamers, I don't have much faith in MS or Blizz trying to cut a good deal with the public. American gamers have proven time and time again that they are willing to pay absurd amounts of money for very little in return.
