Really happy this game was successful, I'd like to see more of it's ilk but in different themes/settings.
Wait, what? Possible? I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in Hungary, If you pop down to MediaMarkt, you can get a retail version of Blood Dragon. I was rather surprised when I saw it sitting there on the shelf, but there it is. How does the company's CEO not know about this?Steven Bogos said:He also hinted at a possible retail release

My guess it'll be released just shortly after Half Life 3.Stevepinto3 said:So that being said...can we freaking talk Beyond Good and Evil 2 now?!?
The last THQ published WWE game was still using assets from last gen. I'm not sure if this is a record, but man.Dr.Awkward said:Except, well... Have you seen how much the Assassin's Creed 2 sequels use assets from the earlier games?
Pretty much this. I'd much rather play a tighter, more self-contained experience that knows what it is, what it wants and how to get it, than your average yearly crop of Sequel Farm producers. Blood Dragon was awesome while it lasted and it didn't overstay its welcome - which in turn means I'm more likely to play it again.RicoADF said:Mini-triple A, you mean AA or just A? You know, like those good movies that are more niche and are made on a smaller budget but are often more enjoyable because theres love put into them instead of just sacks of cash?
If Ubisoft is planning more of them then I 100% support this and plan to get more in future, finally a major publisher learns good lessons
Its a code that can be used online. Its not a disk which is what the CEO means.Pohaturon said:Wait, what? Possible? I know this is hungarian but if you scroll down to the table with the green ticks showing it's specifications it says it's on a DVD, so it's not even like those skyrim DLC's were where you buy a whole and proper DVD case and there is only an activation code in there.
Actually, more like aaa.Machine Man 1992 said:"Mini-AAA," you say?
Sooo... AA?
No he means aaa.Machine Man 1992 said:"Mini-AAA," you say?

Er, but they've already started doing that, with Blood Dragon and CoJ: Gunslinger. In fact, this entire article is a declaration of their commitment to that new direction of cheaper, quick-turnaround titles that reuse the engine and art assets of a major AAA release.Dr.Awkward said:Except, well... Have you seen how much the Assassin's Creed 2 sequels use assets from the earlier games? I'm for it, but damnit, if I've got most of the assets used for it already, then offer me a discount for the game that reuses those assets. GSC (creators of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series) did this with Call of Pripyat with the "Loyalty Purchase", which was a discount to owners of previous games, and it did use several of the assets from Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky. Do something like that and you'll see what real loyalty is, Ubisoft.-Dragmire- said:If the assets from one game are reworked to make 2-3 unique game releases, the gigantic out of control budgets might remain viable for a bit longer... go figure.
