The BNP are being taken to court by The Equality and Human Rights Commission, over the fact that their membership is limited to Caucasians.

Personally this made me chuckle, and I'm giving the government a high five next time I see them. (?)

Thoughts?

Good stuff, and about time.

They can dislike illegal or legal immigrants because there can be valid reasons behind it, but racism is another matter.

That said, why would a non-Caucasian want to be in the BNP?

I can imagine them all sitting round their round table in their nazi doom fortress at their first meeting.
"Ok gentlemen first rule only whities allowed" then hang a big banner outside proclaiming this.

I can picture this big time, like cartoon supervillains.

I have to admit, I can't really see a lot of non-caucasions wanting to join, but each to his own.

Take that Nick Griffin, you won't get this country any time soon.

I just hope this doesn't backfire and increase public sympathy for the BNP, it probably will in their strongholds, but hopefully every where else will start to shun them.

I wonder who their leaders would be, well a zombified hitler of course.

I LOL'd. Almost as much as I heard their campaign music of "If you tolerate this".

..."So if I can shoot rabbits
Then I can shoot fascists"

Excellent, though it's going to be really awkward going to their meetings if you're non-Caucasian.

I'm surprised it's taken this long actually.

Their membership charter violates so many equal rights and employment laws it's almost unbelievable. They were begging for it. It won't destroy the BNP and it won't stop their ass hole practices, but it's going to cost them a lot of money. There's no way they're going to win this case.

HA! made me laugh when I visualised that one!
thanks :D

OP: But seriously, why would any non-caucasians even think to join?
TANSTAAFL! (Yes, I know that makes no sense in this context)

I find this hilarious on so many levels.
1. Like most people said "What took them so long?"
2. "Wouldn't that be like a black guy joining the Klan?" (Mind you I know it's a political party and not a private organization I'm just saying it's funny as hell)
3. Imagine if someone who was non-caucasian actually joined. "I'm a proud African BNP member!"

Heh, the BNP are a bunch of stupid pricks, aren't they? That's all that needs to be said really. Their only purpose is to be bashed around for the general amusement of all sane people.

I think people were already doing that when after they actually won two seats in the European Parliament early this year.

Yeah, pretty much this. I know that "ignore it and it'll go away" is generally a flawed plan but it's somewhat valid in the case of the BNP. They're a massive joke, a whole heapin' barrel of fail, to the point where any serious outrage towards them only serves to give them a bit of real-world relevance.

Because it'd be funny to see their reactions.

People are so stupid. The government does not have the right to force any organisation to accept members it does not want. Should OAP groups be forced to accept teenage members? No. Should Christian groups be forced to accept Muslim members? No. Should a bunch of racist fascists be forced to accept coloured members? No.

I know this phrase gets thrown around a lot these day, but this really is political correctness gone mad.

That's not the problem. It's other people voting for them that's the problem.
