Bogus! Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure Leaving Netflix Sunday, May 1

//cdn.themis-media.com/media/global/images/library/deriv/1316/1316374.jpgBill & Ted's Excellent Adventure departs Netflix on Sunday, May 1, but you still have a couple of days to watch it before it goes.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure is one of the cult classic films from the 1980s. It stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter as two high school students who are given one chance to avoid flunking out: ace their year-end history project.

Luckily for them, a time traveler from the future (played by the inestimable George Carlin) arrives to help them with a time machine. They head into history to bring back a number of historical figures, but as most things with these two guys, it doesn't exactly go according to plan.

If you don't want to miss Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, you should head over to Netflix [https://www.netflix.com/title/60000700] before Sunday.

Man, I hate it when Netflix removes stuff from their library, especially stuff I really like. I'm still upset they got rid of The Nightmare Before Christmas, it's my favorite movie of all time!

Once again... Hurray for the digital age; Making everything easier to watch, and easier to get deleted from existence.

I doubt its netflix doing it. Since content is digital now, that means there is an ongoing negotiation for rights for the films, its not like buying physical discs to rent and then you just have those. Licences for digital media is constantly in flux and the studio probably either pulled the rights from netflix or demanded too much money for it to be worth netflix keeping it aroudn.

Good thing I already own this on Bluray. Now tell them to release Bogus Journey on Bluray as well!
Pretty much why I try my best to make sure everything I own is in some kind of format I can touch and put on a self. It's just too risky these days with everything being digital.

But why? I don't get the reason why. Is there a stated reason? It seems pointlessly restricting.
The studio probably demanded more than was reasonable in licensing fees, or outright refused to renew their agreements with Netflix. (I'm assuming more stuff is dropping off on the first.)

Ah alrighty then, i slightly suspected as such, but am fairly cautious through lack of knowledge of these laws currently. The pitfalls of digital rights i guess.

Often times, they have no choice. And Amazon's not been helping, since they've apparently made several exclusive deals.

But...nothing's been deleted. You just can't watch it on Netflix.

In the digital era, it's almost impossible to delete anything entirely.

Oh Netflix. Just change your name to Marvelflix and be done with it. I don't like watching movies at home much, so it really sucks those rare moments when I want to and cant find it on Netflix. Ofcourse it mocks you by letting you know they know what movie you mean with their "related to" suggestions. Also where the fuck is the last 3 episodes of Full Metal Alchemist!?

Better yet, where the fuck are the last 12 episodes of FMA: Brotherhood?! Freaking 12 episodes are missing and I am not buying a DVD just to watch those last few. This is one reason I am hating the digital distribution age.

That's what I meant. I just picked a random number, but for whatever reason the last 2 seasons are split wrong and the end few episodes are missing, so I still haven't seen the ending even though I watched the other 50 whatever episodes.

They were out of order? Hmmm, I did not notice but I sure as hell noticed that Starwars: The Clone wars has episodes from every season in every season! Someone from the States said that they are all in the right order but not for me on the Canadian site. Holy Dyslexia Batman, the last episode is in the second season!

Can't blame you. I didn't know FMA BH was missing episodes, but they made a big deal when Quantum Leap became available, and then I found out it was only like, a handful of episodes.

I can obviously understand this for some products, like MST3K, but it boggles the mind here.

This is why I'll always prefer physical media; Now that all these companies are hoarding content to stream on their own servers, it forces people to subscribe to a dozen different services to watch or listen to what they want.

So people cut the cord from cable for a big library of movies and TV, but with the library shrinking all these subscriptions to services will end up being as much or more in the end I fear

Are you actually asking for someone to find you a site?

Naw. I mentioned them to an acquaintance at work who frequents those sites (I think iloveanime is his favourite) he told me most of the final episodes of the English dub are broken whereas the Japanese work fine. I watched the entire series in English up to that point and I both love the voice actors and it would just feel weird listening to the rest of the series in a different language. It would probably be just as weird listening to the last episode of One Punch Man in English after listening to the rest of the series in Japanese.

They did!?

*picks up flaming torch*

I better get my arse over to Netflix. I've seen Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure on there and naturally assumed it wasn't going anywhere.
