So, I'm a level 45 Hunter and I was wondering if you guys could help me out with my skill build. Any contstructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. Also, what is your favorite Borderlands character/build ?

I'm really not too interested in the sniping in this game, which is why I chose the Gunslinger skill tree. Also, the bird is pretty great for helping me thin the ranks of whatever happens to be attacking me at the time.

I play Lilith, because I like going invisible and following it up by sticking my shotgun barrel in bandits' faces. That, and it's a cheap way to heal myself.

As for builds, I don't really know what to tell you about it. I just put points into whatever sounds cool.

My level 40 Hunter went down the sniping tree, as I really enjoyed sniping in the game, plus trespass is insanely useful, even when not sniping as it means your bullets have a 100% chance of bypassing the shield. Consequently, I can't really help other than that, as I seem to prefer the complete opposite from you.

Personally, this [http://www.borderlandsthegame.com/skilltree/mordecai/#11055550150500005005555] is the build I'd go for.
I mainly keep a regular and an elemental sniper, with a revolver and shotgun.

Rogue/Gunslinger is amazingly powerful if you max out certain skills from each tree. The Bloodwing becomes a helicopter gunship, pretty much. As for the pistols, you can grab a Double Thanatos (used to be 'pearl', now it's properly Orange/Legendary) and rip things to shreds.

My gunslinger build is the same but instead of Rogue I go for Sniper. If you have the DLC, you can get to 61, so try for Focus and Killer. Last point can go anywhere. I carry a fast-firing accurate sniper rifle, a Skullmasher, a Pestilent Defiler, and a Double Thanatos.

The fast firing one is for targets far far away. The Skullmasher (sniper rifle that places several bullets at once) is for closer targets and bosses; anything with a giant crit spot. Defiler takes care of Crimson Lance and is my main weapon, and the Thanatos (literally a bullet hose, my Gunslinger mod makes it fire so fast my audio bugs out trying to play the firing sound effect) is for when the enemy is up in my face and swarming, like zombies and the like.

A good revolver can take the place of a sniper rifle if you want it to. I used to do that because my draw distance was so poor super-long-range sniping was almost useless anyway.

I went through the entire first playthrough as well as Secret Armory with points in both Sniper and Gunslinger, but lately I've been having a really hard time finding a good sniper rifle lately. Also, seems to me like there are very few places where you can actually use a sniper without something rushing you.

First off - You have a solid build as is, now for what I'd do later on:
If you love Bloodwing as much as I do, put your next 5 points into "Predator" so you can use him more.
After that, if you have The Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC, put the remaining eleven into "Fast Hands" (Who doesn't like fast reload? And also it gets you away from generally inferior Tediore guns, who's only real advantage over other maker's is the reload speed.), "Swipe" (Almost always tons of cash and Med-kits, It beat The Underdome's 5 round matches for me), and then the last one into.. I guess "Riotous Remedy" or something.

Edit: Projected build, to remove confusion factor if any

Yeah, the random number god hates everyone. There's a few good sniper rifles (Skullmasher, that automatic one, and that 5 round burst one) and a some bad/impractical ones (Hawkeye, where the 4x zoom is so deep that that rifle isn't accurate enough for the scope). I never had the problem of being rushed with a sniper rifle out, maybe you whip it out (heh) in bad situations or something. I do find that I just use my Defiler for everything nowadays. Too lazy to line up a crit on a moving target when I can just chew up the entire place with acid. Snipers are a bit too niche in my opinion, or play style, whatever.

EDIT: Typo'ed 'moving' to 'loving'. There's a new low. Herp derp.

Are you trying to Pve or win duals? That's kind of an important thing to know.

http://www.borderlandsthegame.com/skilltree/mordecai/#11000000050325055500555

That would be my personal Lvl 50 Pve Pistol Build.

Pve most of the time, however my brother is a Brick who always seems to kick my ass in duels since he can go into beserk and basically become invincible, so some help on that would be greatly appreciated as well...

Mordecai Beats Brick 100 Percvent of the time in duals as long as you use trusspass, and 100% dazing bloodwing. When the dual starts stay as far from brick as possible and throw bird immediately. Bird dazes him and you shoot him while he stands still. If brick is a rocket character you do the same thing, but they can in theory 1 hit you with a helix launcher, so watch that.
