Stop calling them "British Petroleum" or i'll starting calling a third of the world "The British Empire".
As I said on the last page, at the time the game was published they were in fact still known as British Petroleum So my statement that "someone at British Petroleum thought the game was a good idea at the time" still remains true.AngryMongoose said:Stop calling them "British Petroleum" or i'll starting calling a third of the world "The British Empire".
Oh sweet jesus you are right, it IS still a British-owned company. I need to stop reading Wiki articles after a sentence and assume it makes my point valid. So sorry bout that, egg on my face here... still, better than oil in your drink! It's name, the name of the company, the company's name, is BP. Not British Petroleum. That was the OLD name, but seeing as though it is now purely an American-owned company, it is called BP. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bp

And British Petroleum only officially changed its name to BP around the turn of the century. I used it in the lede because when the game was published, the name of the company was, indeed, British Petroleum
It does actually, just because it didn't happen in the US didn't mean the US didn't cause it. Ummm, yeah. That was the Iraqi army thinking it would stop the US from coming ashore. It's not really the US's fault.UtopiaV1 said:Oh sweet jesus you are right, it IS still a British-owned company. I bet whoever came up with that "bestseller" of a game is now denying any and all involvement.SnootyEnglishman said:Oh BP you never cease to amaze me in your stupidity.

BP's motto is; Why spend money if you don't have to.Russ Pitts said:Wow. neither the game, nor the offshore drilling rigs used by BP have been updated in over 30 years.
Unless you count the US invading Iraq as the US's fault. But I really don't want to argue political semantics here. That would be super childish of me... *sticks tongue out*crimson5pheonix said:Ummm, yeah. That was the Iraqi army thinking it would stop the US from coming ashore.
