Brian Wood Memorial Fund Established

A memorial fund for the wife and unborn child of Brian Wood, the Company of Heroes designer who was killed in an auto wreck last week, has been set up and is now taking donations.

Brian R. Wood, a designer at Relic Entertainment, was killed reported [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/103259-Company-of-Heroes-Designer-Killed-in-Crash] that Wood swerved at the last second to take the brunt of the collision himself, saving her and their child.

A memorial trust fund has now been established to help Erin and her baby manage through this incredibly difficult and tragic time. "Brian was a very close friend," said Szymon Mazus of Radical Entertainment. "He was just the kindest, most down to earth person you could ever hope to meet, as is Erin. We have set up a trust fund to help Erin and the baby during this very difficult time."

Donations to the Brian Wood Memorial Trust can be made in person at any North Shore Credit Union branch in the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia, online through PayPal or via regular mail. To learn more or to make a donation to this very worthwhile cause, follow the link to brianwoodmemorialtrust.com [http://www.brianwoodmemorialtrust.com/].

Well, I'm donating. I can't stand the thought of a child growing up without one of their parents, I feel lucky that nothing like that has happened to my parents. The fact that he sacrificed himself to protect them makes him a hero in my books.
Rest in piece, may he be happy wherever he is now.

They should make an expansion to Company of Heroes and make it about him. Since he is the real hero in all of this, sacrificing himself to save his wife an unborn child. It's seriously depressing that people like this die due to the stupidity of others, while many bad people roam freely.

RIP Brian. X

This story was already truly tragic, But the fact he did that to save his family. I think its obvious who the true Hero is here.

Two of the passengers in the other vehicle were killed, and the driver and another passenger are facing charges.

Such a shame to see someone needlessly die, and I give the best wishes to his family. I hope that the gaming community can help them through this fund.

As soon as I get my "student salary", part of it goes to this very noble cause.

Also, he "sacrificed himself"? That's incredibly noble.

Rest In Peace, Brian Wood, you are a loss not only to the gaming community, but to humanity in general.

I think a portion of Company of Heroes revenue should be donated to this generous and compassionate man. A real hero.

God bless and may you find the strength and heart to keep going without a loving husband!
But hes dead. Or you mean his family?

that's a terrible idea. use the money to help his wife and child, not to make an expansion to a World war 2 game about someone who died in 2010 in a car accident. (?)

i know you're kidding, but I had to throw that out anyway lol.

RIP to that guy, his games are really cool.
Hey, I didn't say they should do it with the money. Just that they should do it generally.

RIP and may the gods rest his soul. Man did a heroic act, not something to be taken lightly. A memorial is the right idea.

As much as I would love to donate, I'm in no financial position to do so :(

I can only pray that there are enough people out there who care enough to pitch in some money.

Hmmm... even if I'm saving up for a Concert I must donate.

Spent so many hours on it...

I feel so bad for his poor wife and unborn child.

I hope this fund goes some way to making life a little easier on them, though of course, it can't bring him back.

Man, he swerved himself into it to protect his family... What a hero, man. Seriously.
That's love, right there.
