Bruce Willis Could Star in Kane and Lynch Film

The star of Die Hard has received an offer to play Kane from Eidos's Kane and Lynch: Dead Men.

The movie adaptation of the game is being helmed by first-time lead director Simon Crane, whose previous credits include stunt coordinator duties for Troy, X-Men: The Last Stand and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Both Willis and Crane are cooperating on Touchstone Pictures' The Surrogate.

Writer Kyle Ward has completed a script based on the Kane and Lynch storyline where the mercenary pair seeks a stolen microchip. Once an actor for the second lead character, James Lynch, is chosen, shooting is expected to begin by year's end.

That would be great. He's still my hero when it comes to action flicks (despite Die Hard 4).
Better than Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne for sure.

Bruce Willis please reject the offer for you are 30 years too late to take this role. Just look at Die Hard 4 and you'll realize that you need to retire now.

I doubt he will be really good. He don't seem sinister enough. I think K&L would make a good movie, but it really depends on who they get to write the script and direct it. Haven't played it really, so I can't say much more about it

Bruce Willis is a pretty solid choice, but if they don't use Tommy Chong for Lynch, I ain't interested.

I mean, come on. Look at that shit. They should've just called it Kane & Chong.

So wait, this game has been out less than a year, received a critical panning on release, and is already being turned into a film? A medium almost identical to games, except one requires user input, and one does not?

Can someone take me back to when games were games, and not exercises in corporate branding.?
Makes sense to me: the game already sucks; what damage could Hollywood do?
Maybe it'll be a reverse formula:

Good/Mediocre Game = Bad Movie
Bad Game = Good Movie

No... never mind. It probably won't be good. Though, I must say, I does have the potential to become good. Just make it a nice bank heist movie, with multiple banks...

The game has sold over a million copies and despite the buggy combat system it had a fairly good plot. In all honesty, it should've been a movie in the first place. I've never advised it as anything more than a rental to other gamers, but it is a very good rent.

@Malygris: To be honest, the only way I'd ever see a K&L movie is if Tommy Chong is in it. In fact, it could clearly be the worst video game adaptation ever made (even worse than Bloodrayne and Mortal Combat) and I'd still see it just for Tommy Chong. I mean, the more I think about it, this movie should only be made so Tommy Chong can be in it. They should've pitched it that way.

Studio Exec 1: Hey. My kid has this video game. We should make a movie about it. It's called Kame and Lurch and -

Studio Exec 2: Shut up, Uwe Boll. My yacht got repo'd because of Doom.

Studio Exec 1: - And Tommy Chong could be in it, and he could be shooting people.

Studio Exec 2: And my girlfriend can have a pointless nude scene! Here's 20 million dollars!

They should turn Turning Point into a movie next. It's just as bad as K&L, and Nazis die in it. And everyone loves dead Nazis, you feel me?

This has a potential to be a great movie. The game's plot and atmosphere was it's best trait, and Bruce Willis seems perfect, despite his age. I remember them mentioning Billy Bob Thornton as Lynch when this movie was first mentioned a few months ago.

"Who is it?"

"It's me, Kane. Open up, man, I got the stuff."

"Who?"

"It's Kane, man. Open up, I think the cops saw me come in here."

"Kane?"

"Yeah, Kane. C'mon, open up, I think the cops saw me."

"Kane's not here."

At any rate, it can't be as bad as either Alone In The Dark or House of The Dead were, so that's a plus. Right?

Right?
