Taken from my blog - http://evo-wales.blogspot.com/

"Reports have been flooding in from numerous areas - cncnation.net, RPS and Shacknews among many that a new Command and Conquer FPS is in the works!

Some of the current info on it follows (taken from the various sources above)

You play as Ricardo Vega, a GDI field commander dragged out of retirement to stop the latest Nod master plan.

* Will ship on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360
* Set 11 years after the third Tiberium war
* Squad-based action
* Squads are called R.A.I.D. (Rapid Assault and Intercept Deployment)
* Known squad types are infantry, missile infantry, Titan and Orca
* Missions are around the "Mediterranean Red Zone"
* Special powers such as "Orbital Slug" are available

This is intriguing, from the limited information available to us there is no mention of the Scrin and puts you in the role of a GDI commander, presumably you will be commanding a commando squad or some such thing."

i doubt it will beat renegade... i'm not fond of Squad gameplay, i want havoc :D

and knowing that EA already screwed C&C, i doubt this will be any different.

edit: why is the title of this thread: Renegade lives in Tiberium btw? i mean, renegade was during a tiberium war, and you even encountered shit loads of it (or infected stuff) so yea.

Renegade was such a fun and underrated title. I loved the ability to interact at the ground level with the structures found in the game. They had an interesting mix of vehicles and added planes right before the game vanished. Renegade will always hold a place in my heart as a fun and very ambitious title.

Market Researcher: OHSHI WE'RE LOSING MONEY. QUICK REVIVE A POPULAR FRANCHISE!!!

Toady: How about Command and Conquer? They have a loyal fanbase that we can exploit to make a rushed, shoddy game and trick them into buying it!

Market Researcher: Brilliant! We'll make a Command and Conquer game!

Toady: But sir, there's already like 10 Command and Conquer games out there. Shouldn't we put some clever twist on it to give the current players some reason to buy it?

Market Researcher: Yes. Yes!! We must introduce a new type of game in the comfortingly familiar universe. Now what type of game sells? Wasn't that Hello title pretty popular?

Toady: You mean Halo? A first person shooter?

Market Researcher: Yes! First Person Hooters! Get to work, minion!!

(as you can see, I'm skeptical... And yes, I'm familiar with the first renegade game. :p)

As a conclusion to the hours we spent on Renegage, I say it sucked.
If they're going to revive this, they'd better think strong about it. Now, I wonder if you need to be a C&C fanboy to appreciate even such iterations of this universe.

Hey Soladrin, do they still allow for online play with Renegade? I just bought the decade version yesterday after posting here. As to the game sucking, well, to each their own.
