Interesting the PS5 version is higher than the PS4, but no Xbox yet.

I watched my friend stream the campaign, and WOW both the good and bad endings are super stupid and ridiculously underwhelming. The plot twist at the end is also some of the dumbest shit I've ever seen.

That said, it was cool to see some of your choices actually matter in the story. But as far the plot goes, its just one big ass sequel bait.

Was Mason still brainwashed all along?

I'm okay with being spoiled. I haven't played COD since Infinite Warfare and I doubt I'm gonna play this one either.

As far as I know, Mason is essentially a side character in this. So is Woods. Kinda just fanservice. But the character you do play is basically the Russian version of Mason. Brainwashed by the CIA to betray your organization. If you get the "bad" ending, you get to kill Mason and Woods. Kinda funny.

Not to mention you destroy all of Europe with bombs placed in major cities by the American government. Another day, another CoD plot that involves America's stupid WMDs being used against it. What a dumb game. Also, can someone tell Activision to stop retroactively making CoD4 worse with all these retcons and such? (I read on wiki that Zakhaev shows up at one point...)

Actually I think Zakhaev is the main bad guy... Idk it was all very confusing. They seem to be making the Call of Duty Game Universe (CODGU) with the latest titles. I guess we have Warzone to thank for that. Gotta get that sweet integration!

Funnily enough, thats just about the noise I made in reaction to learning that. Also, shared CoD universe?
Especially since they wholesale dumped all of Black Ops dumb story right into this mess as canon, and they are getting ready to remake CoD4/MW2...

One of my co-workers bought Cold War only for the zombies and multiplayer. Glad he did not buy it for the single player.

So much for next-gen. Fuck you Activision, Sony, and Microsoft for trying that $70 shit.
It’s an oversight on their part, but it sounds like all that’s needed is manually switching the PS5 version to default if the user downloads it along with the PS4 one. Seems like it logically favors the first version, but really it should ask the user to confirm which one they want to play first or at least default to the system’s version.

I admit, that actually sounds kind of interesting. Mostly in it's one of those America screws itself hard by doing something stupid and immoral. It kinda reminds me of BLOPS 2, where the whole reason Menedez hates the US and eventually builds a world spanning army is because The US murdered his sister during a raid.

I got a copy for a friend of mine and he can't get the game to work. It keeps crashing out after a minute or 2 whenever he loads into the campaign or a multiplayer match.

We've been trouble shooting for probably 2 hours and haven't managed to get it stable at all.

My copy works great. My PC is significantly more powerful than his, but the parts he has are LITERALLY listed as the recommended spec for the game so I don't see how it could be a hardware issue.

Don't see this on Steam... where did you pick it up for PC?

It's not a bad setup (if already cliche even within the COD franchise itself), but it was handled really poorly. It's like if the original Modern Warfare ended right before you get nuked. And then you got nuked in a cinematic while a monologue drawled on.

Blizzard's Battle.net.

I've got a 5700XT and he's got a 970. I would have assumed his outdated card is the problem, except that it's literally listed as one of the "recommended" cards.

Recommended
Specifications to run at 60FPS in most situations with all options set to Medium:

OS: Windows 10 64 Bit (latest Service Pack)
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD Ryzen R5 1600X
RAM: 12GB RAM
HDD (at launch*): 82GB HD space
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / GTX 1660 Super or Radeon R9 390 / AMD RX 580

I feel like I should be annoyed I can't buy this on steam anymore.

OTOH, I'm not particularly interested in this so I guess I'm just annoyed on principle.
I'd be annoyed, but battle.net has existed longer than steam, and I already had battle.net installed for other games. I didn't have to get a new launcher to play it. I've also never had an issue with battle.net.

I'm definitely annoyed when a game requires me to use uplay though or other newer launchers that barely work. I haven't bought a ubisoft game since farcry 3 because I refuse to use uplay after it fucked up my farcry save.

Been a bit. I didn't realize I even have their app on my computer (likely for Starcraft II).
