Can someone explain this to me please?

Why is it that fps specifically give me awful connection, high ping, and constant lag? I have played WoW with minimal connection problems, so it can't be the number of players, I also smoothly am able to play borderlands, Starcraft II, and RE4. But for some reason when I try playing Bad Company 2 or Dino D-day online I lag like a mofo with 300+ ping (I'm a PC gamer, also sorry for double post, I'm new here. Don't know how to delete it)

It all depends on where the server is and how close you are to it. FPS servers are usually owned by players, not the gamemakers themselves if I'm not mistaken. So their servers can be all over the place sometimes, so it may just happen that you live far away from where most of the servers are located.

So is it merely an awful coincidence that I have yet to find a lag free game ever since buying either game, with maybe the exception of one round on Bad Company 2?

Bad Company is a big game. Very pretty too.

Well again, as big as Bad Company is, doesn't compare to WoW and I ran that perfectly on ultra settings. I actually just had a smooth game in Dino D-day for whatever it's worth
